I just had mine re-done and went with 16.5 x 16.5 and they work great. GPS SOG was 21.9 mph at 3200 rpm in fresh water. This boat came with a 17 x 17 prop.

I get a lot of gen parts from ASAP "Parts for Techs". Just do a Google search and you'll find it. They have a full tune-up set for just a little more than this guy wanted to charge you for points! Problems with the points is common in these gens. Rob

FYI, my pump ran for the first six months. I had leaks everywhere: at the cockpit hose bib, the head faucet, the water connection, the hose behind the water connection and hose bib, and the water pump check valve leaked pressure back into the tank.

I'm not aware of any in-line filter added to any of these boats. Could have been added by a previous owner? Our boat was like Keith's, we had to replace most of the water connections. Our 1989 has a vac-u-flush so the water may not come from the same spot. Our toilet water supply comes through...

Jason, what number 89 DA is yours? Mine is number 720. All the panels have DA720 written on them. Rusty Higgins told me they started each year at 500, so mine would have been the 220th 340 DA made in 89. Rob

I added a 12v plug so I can charge my phone while on the hook. I took the 12v power from the light. Not enough for a heavy load but more than enough to charge my cell phone.

Oh and FYI, Steve made these props 16.5 x 16.5. They're supposed to be 17 x 17, but they weren't. The actual size was like 16 5/8 but varied between blades as did the pitch.

Ah at last the new name and fresh stripping and the re-worked props. The props were done using the Prop Scan and it worked great. I picked up 5 mph, she comes out of the hole way easier, and I get much more lift thus needed less tabs. It's like a new boat. Thanks Thomas Marine Propeller!
