    Help with fuel gauge

I have had the same issue for years with my 185 Sport. I replaced the sending unit 3 times, replaced the gauge, checked the polarity, etc.... My issue is that the gauge reads fine from a full tank to 1/2 full, then it reads empty. Then around 1/2 tank it reads accurate again. My best guess...

Fixing transducer to inside of hull

Easy to do and works fine. I used marine silocone and it works great. I'm sure several folks will chime in and say silicone isnt the way to go, but I have never had any problems at all. Plus, mounting it this way doesnt paint you in a corner if you decide you want to move it later.

gauges question for 185 sport '06

Hey there. I'll answer since I went through the exact same thing a few months back. The manufacturer is Norcross Marine, and the gauge is a Hawk Eye. When they come on a Sea Ray, they strip all the identifying logos, so it is really hard to find out what it is. The transducer is also...

    SR 185 Sport Bimini Top?

hey there. I have a like new condition (navy blue) bimini from my 185 that I am selling. I installed a tower and had to get a new one to fit with the tower. Its basically brand new and sitting in my garage. If interested shoot me a note (sharritan@verizon.net)

Depth finder on 185 - manual

That is not a Humminbird. I know because I have the same one, which no longer works, and I searched forever to find what it was. It is a gauge made by Norcross Marine. Google them and you will find it. It is likely listed as a Hawk Eye since I think they now make the gauges for Norcross...

    wakeboard towers

I just put a MT1 (MonsterTower) on my 185 sport. Looks fantastic and pretty straight forward to put on. I did a ton of research and kept coming back to the Monster Towers. They run specials all the time, so keep an eye on their site. When I got mine it was a week long sale for $200 off...

    Thru Hull Transducer?

Sounds good. I'll do my research. Just thinking it would be easier to reuse the existing hole since I know it's in the right place. Saves me from having to figure out a new mounting location. Thanks for all your help.

    Thru Hull Transducer?

Ok. So, for a new fishfinder would it make more sense to just put a new shoot through in behind this one, or is it simple to just pop this one out and put a new one in. Arent through hulls more accurate? Are they typically standard sizes? I plan on replacing the old gauge with a clock.

    Thru Hull Transducer?

Thanks for the reply. It's tricky because this was on when I bought it from the dealer new, last year. However, the boat manual says it should be a hummingbird 610 and mine is a 200 or something like that. The frustrating part is all of this should still be under warranty, but since I didn't...

    Thru Hull Transducer?

Hopefully someone can help here. I am not new to boating, but this has me stumped. My cheapo Humminbird depth sounder quick working on me. I knew that the transducer was not a transom mount, so I assumed it was a shoot through. When I took a closer look, it appears it is a through hull...

    New here with a question

Re: Gas Gauge problem Hey again, I am really hoping someone has a suggestion for me as this is driving me NUTS! So on my 185 Sport, the gas gauge has never worked right. For the record, it is a transducer style sender. I now have tried 3, yes 3, new senders, and two new gauges. Nothing...

    New here with a question

Hey again. Just talked to a friend of mine and he may be on to something. I never paid any attention to it, but my horn is terribly soft also. Sounds like a sick whale and cant even hear it when the engine is running. He thought the fact that my gas gauge and the horn are both hosed up...

    New here with a question

Thanks everyone. I will keep looking into it. I am not opposed to an aftermarket sender. However, the main fristration is this is still under warranty so you would think they should get it working. Good news is I can see the tank, so I know about where the fuel is without a guage. Just like...

    New here with a question

Thanks. Ill try that. Just so I ask, I am assuming you mean pull it from the gauge? The connections at the sendor are actually a clip of sorts that clip together to the wiring coming from the gauge, so there isnt anything to sand. I'll take a look tonight and see what happens.
