I'm having trouble removing the covers on the clarion speakers in the cabin of my 2000 260da. I tried twisting them and prying them off and I don't think I will be able to remove them without damaging something. Looking for help if anyone on here has done it. Thanks Great Forum.
Trying to get a marine mechanic down to the dock today. Thanks for suggestions will let you know what we find. Checking your suggestions as well. The breaker above the shore power outlet is on. The breaker on the dock trips when you turn the main power on in cabin. Thats the switch right next to...
Thanks for the quick response. So you're saying even with the hot water heater switched off this could still be the issue ? It's funny because the marina had GFCI pedestals before and there was no problems.
Our marina just installed new electric pedestals on the docks. My brothers boat had no issues prior to this. Now when he hooks up to shore power he trips the GFCI breaker at the dock. This happens when we switch the main on with all other switches and 110 systems off. We have tryed other shore...
Turn on a faucet. If you get the same rotten egg smell as you do when you flush your toilet then its probably bad holding tank water. If not then its most likely plugged or saturated fart filter as previous posts have mentioned.
Thanks for the tips. The pump housing is plastic but I think the pulley is metal. I don't think the bearings are seized up it feels more like the impeller is preventing the pulley from turning. When you try and turn the pulley by hand it feels spongy like a rubber impeller might be twisted up in...
Thanks Lazy Daze. Thats the way I'll do it. This is a maintanence item so I want to learn to do it myself. I boat about 75 Hours a year in the St. Lawrence River. Should I do this every year? The river is like bottled water but I don't want neglect preventive maintanance.
Thanks everyone for the help. I took the boat out of the water and will be repairing it in the driveway. It seems that there are two ways to approach this. One is to remove the whole unit with the bracket and rebuild the pump on the bench. The other is to just remove the housing from the back of...
the motor eventually started but serpentine belt was sgueeling and smoking badly. shut the motor down immediately and found after removing the belt that the bottom pulley cant be turned even by hand with the belt off. This is the very bottom left pulley.
Went to start my 260 Sundancer today and the engine would not turn over. The motor acted seized up. I removed the serpentine belt and found the bottom left pulley on the front of the 7.4 litre MPI engine seized solid. Is this the fuel pump/cooler unit? I had no problems with it prior to this. Thanks
Not really sure what your problem may be. But be aware of the ethanol in most fuels now. I use stabil in every motor now except my truck. Its a real problem.
We have a 2000 260da so I can only give you my experience with this boat. We absolutely love it for our purposes which are mainly day and weekend trips. With a growing family of four you would be ok but pushing it somewhat for long camping trips. But sometimes we bring tents. The older teens...
I bought several at an electrical store. I think these are commonly used for applications other than 12 volt switches. Probably control systems. The counter person knew exactly where to get them. And yes get the metal ones. The sun wont crack them
We have a 2000 7.4 MPI and I think I have 5 but I still check my manuals every year. You don't want to miss one. There locations are shown in the back pages of my small black owners manual. I also have a larger installation manual that shows there location as well. My motor is different I'm...
