stripped screw bimini bracket to windshield frane

Problem is that this is a thin aluminum frame that was not tapped to begin with, it's a sheet metal screw that goes into it, there's not enough material in the aluminum frame to tap in the amount of thread needed for a machine screw to catch.

stripped screw bimini bracket to windshield frane

Not a major problem, but as we know, minor problems can become major if left unattended. One of the screws holding the bimini frame bracket to the windshield frame has stripped, basically a steel sheet metal screw going into aluminum. What would those in the know recommend for making the screw...

New member, with a new, first boat

That's good stuff to know, I'm starting out with no knowledge of any of this stuff. I'll look into the chemicals, certainly wouldn't use shop vac if #2 is present but we're going to try to ban #2 unless emergency!

    Advise on a 250 Sundancer

If you got to SeaRay's web site, you'll see that the specs for the '10 260DA and the '09 250DA are basically identical, the 250 is an "off" model in name only, it is a 260. Download the brochures for each and you will see that the layouts are the same. From what I've been told, SeaRay decided...

New member, with a new, first boat

Hello from Lakewood, CO, we just got our first boat, an '09 250DA and are we excited and happy! Maiden voyage was on a smaller lake on Colorado's front range and all went well, I even got it on the trailer on the first try! Now, I gotta question about the head - we have the manual, pump-out...

260 Sundancer Thread.........Comments questions and answers

Thanks for your responses, that's kinda what I figured since they did also change the interior layout in '09, and it seems like how each mfr. measures their boat is a free-for-all. It's a pretty good deal so we'll probably jump on it.

260 Sundancer Thread.........Comments questions and answers

So we have a chance at a pretty good deal on a 2009 250 Sundancer. In researching the 250, I go to Sea Ray's website to past models, and also follow this thread. It would appear that the 250 is a designation that was used only on 2009. Models previous to '09 were designated 260 and the '10 is...

    Raw, green newbie

Well, the "tow rig" has been around just about a year, it's my wife's dog show vehicle and general "hauling my sister and her kids around when they visit" vehicle. It's now acquired a new job. I think it will be fine hauling to the Colorado front range reservoirs from Ft. Collins to Pueblo...

    Raw, green newbie

I think we got a very good deal, I was surprised how much they came off the price, and trailer and windsall were included. I know there are probably good deals to be had out there but the admiral likes new, and I also figured for our first boat it would be good to have something with full warranty.

    Raw, green newbie

Well, we pulled the trigger today and put down a deposit on a new 240DA, should be here 2nd week of August! Although the 260 also appealed to us, for a 1st boat the 240 fit our needs and budget, and we are going to be trailering everywhere, as there is not one lake in Colorado that we want to...

    Trailer mover ??

I'm a green, rank newbie and this looks to be a great place for advice and to hear from those who "been there, done that." My question is, does anyone use a trailer mover/dolly to maneuver their trailer around in tight areas? I have a great place for storage except it will probably be too tight...

    Raw, green newbie

Just joined CSR 'cause I'm looking around for all the advice, info and education I can get about boats, my wife and I are seriously close to getting either a new 240DA or 260DA, we've never owned a boat before but have done limited boating over the years. Looks like a great place for help & info.
