    weight distribution question re: batteries

I have 2 group 31s starboard along with the 28 gal holding tank. Port has 28gal water tank and 6 gal HWH. When water tank (and HWH) are full to the top and the waste tank is completely empty, I can see a slight list to port when she's at the dock. Most casual observers probably wouldn't be able...

    2005 Sundancer 280

I had a buddy with a similar issue once. His turned out to be a bad breaker in the panel. It's rare, but it can happen. If you have a different circuit with the same size breaker, open up the panel and swap them as a test. Other than that, you are looking at a possible bad/weak connection...

Lifeseal, Sikaflex or.... RUBRAIL TIME !!!

Mine was also a mess. Hardly any bonding besides the screws. It was not sealed very well, either. Did the exact process specified above. Wedges, scraping, acetone, 5200, new screws. Made one heck of a difference in how the boat handles, feels, and sounds. All positive.

Boat needed some love this off season. (alt title: How to throw a checkbook in 1 easy step)

I missed the part about the steel cable. I'm amazed that they allow that up there. Very dangerous. I'd start hitting up the environmentalist groups for some help. They'll go bezerk if you tell them that someone is actually putting carbon steel in the water. It'll be banned in no time.

Those are really good numbers. At 32 MPH, I'd be burning around 15 GPH. The dancers aren't as sporty as the SLXs, though. But yeah... I'll give up my 496 when they pry my cold hands from it.

Jack away. No worries. If you do sell that boat, I might buy it (I'm gonna swap motors, though). You've left no stone unturned.

No. Unfortunately, I was not around to see it while Mike had it apart. He did say that he inspected it, and that it was "perfect". I'm just going to have to take his word for it.

    Need Boat Lift Intel

The local fire department has kept the boat below at my marina on that exact docking system for the last 8-10 years. I've seen them launch from, and return to it many times. We've also got boat lifts. After them in operation side by side for all of these years, I would absolutely go with the Jet...

Boat needed some love this off season. (alt title: How to throw a checkbook in 1 easy step)

She's alive! I picked up the boat from my mechanic's shop this afternoon. He had it on a trailer, so we stopped and filled the tank on the way to the ramp. He cut me loose 7.5 miles from my marina. The ride back was uneventful with the exception that my GPS decided that it didn't want to power...

    Cool Shit

I did the same at a bar near Port Richie (don't remember which one). These are cool. You can put it right back where it came from.

One of the things I look forward to the most... The Crab Pot slalom. It should be an Olympic event. Years ago I picked up one of those old discarded crab traps just under the surface leaving Fairlee Creek. I would have been okay if I had just snagged the line. It was so decayed that it had no...

Well.. All the work is done and paid for. I'm ready to go much earlier than I thought I would be. Life is good. And then... Our marina breaks their forklift. All of the slip boats are still on blocks in the yard. Repairs are supposed to happen this weekend. This normally wouldn't be an issue...

    Bravo 3 Leg Prop Pitch

Do you know what the ratio of drive you have is, and if it is the same as what the boat was sold with? I'm just thinking out loud here, but since the props are different than what the boat was sold with, you should probably verify that the drive ratio has not changed as well.

Im putting a new VHF radio in where the old northstar was installed, what do you all use to close in the hole and install the new radio?

I bought some textured ABS plastic from Amazon and made a piece with a cutout for the new radio to cover the old hole like White Shadow's last picture above shows.

    Thru hull cooling, two questions

Does it have a scoop on it? If so, it should work fine. Keep an eye on water pressure and temps at first to make sure that it is picking up sufficient water. Placement was done when they though it was going to be an outlet and they were not considering if it was in a good spot to pick up water...

    Fixed it till it broke

Boating rule #1 - You can never have 100% of your boat working at the same time. The minute you fix the very "last" thing that is broken, something else breaks that you don't know about yet.
