Can anyone compare ride quality of 220 Sundeck to 240 Sundancer?

Thanks for the responses everyone, and davidh, thanks for clarifying how the trim tabs are used and the "rolly polly" bit. That all l makes sense. I was thinking the thing swayed back and forth at speed like a weeble, and you have to keep compensating with the trim tabs - apparently (and...

Can anyone compare ride quality of 220 Sundeck to 240 Sundancer?

We have a 22' Sundeck, and are thinking a pocket cruiser might be fun, so are considering selling it and getting a Sundancer 240. At first I assumed since it's 2' longer and heavier, it would be more stable/smoother than our Sundeck, however after reading about it a little more, I hear people...

Strange seawater PSI issue: Higher at idle, drops at speed (Guardian kicks in)

Also, temp gauge on dash (which I think is oil temp?) reads same as it always has, under 170 F. Raw water cooling. Mechanic wants to change thermostat next (though he says it shouldn't really need it).

Strange seawater PSI issue: Higher at idle, drops at speed (Guardian kicks in)

2010 Sundeck 220 with Mercruiser 5.0 MPI EC (catalyzed) This started this season, as soon as we launched. As soon as I get up on a plane I get Low Seapump Pressure messages, and engine guardian kicks in. Also sometimes shows messages about Manifold Temp To High, leading me to believe it's a...

Pictures of the 22 and 24 Outboard Sundeck

Did any more pics of the outboard sundecks ever turn up? spfortjohn: did you get any? I haven't been on here for months - if there's another thread and I missed it let me know. Did a little searching to no avail...

Where to mount the grill on my SD

Shane, is that mounted in the flag pole holder? Which mount did you use? My wife just gave me a Magma ChefsMate grill from Christmas :smt038 , and I think that's what I want to do. I think I've heard of people using the flag pole holder - not sure if it works with Magma's fishing rod holder...

    horn question

It is somewhere between hilarious and pathetic that this design defect has existed for so many years, and Sea Ray, with all their engineering and design know-how, can't seem to master such a seemingly simple/low tech thing. (We can put a man on the moon, but...) They replaced mine under...

Does your system tach show sea temperature? Maybe you just need to enable it!

Instructions for the system tach (at least the on one my boat) can be downloaded here: http://www.mercurymarine.com/gauges-and-controls/gauges-and-displays/digital/sc1000-sc100/ Download the doc called "Smartcraft Gauges Owners Guide" Direct link here - not sure if it will work...

Does your system tach show sea temperature? Maybe you just need to enable it!

So I was mildly disappointed that my Sundeck 220 didn't show ocean temp. Not a huge deal, but it's fun to have an idea of what the temp is when swimming. I never really got a clear answer if the stock transducer (or other sensor in engine) provided this info, but think I was told it did not do...

    Flushing engine while in slip

IMHO, a week is nothing to worry about. Mine is in salt water 5 months straight each year, with no fresh flush till end of season.

Moving a sundeck 220's trailer with a yard or garden tractor

"It was sure easier to get it in a tight spot than with the crew cab pickup." That's exactly what I'm up against - crew cab pick up with crappy turning radius. All of the lawn tractors I've looked just have a horizontal sheet metal plate in back, with a flimsy little hole on bottom to drop a...

Moving a sundeck 220's trailer with a yard or garden tractor

That cub 149 looks a little beefier than the yard tractors I'm looking at (I think?). Something that big might be a bit unwieldy for lawn mowing on this property. Does yours have a hitch receiver or did you have to have something fab'd up? I doing a little more research I think the YT4000...

Moving a sundeck 220's trailer with a yard or garden tractor

Just bought a new house, with a 15000 SF yard and two garages. :smt038 Boat will be able to go in one during the winter, but in the summer I'd like to put the trailer in a tight spot in the yard that will require more maneuverability than my truck can provide. I'm justifying buying a small...

    Removing/replacing stock tranducer on a Sundeck 220 (2010)

Just want to add a bit of info about transducer and dead rise that became apparent after taking a closer look, in case anyone comes across this in a search: On this boat, the transducer is dead center on the keel, shooting straight down, so effectively the dead rise is 0.

    Removing/replacing stock tranducer on a Sundeck 220 (2010)

Thanks Henry. I know my deadrise is 21 degrees at the stern, but I was thinking it was less where the 'ducer hole is. However now that I think about it I doubt it's that much less as that steepness is carried forward quite a bit. Will measure before buying anything to be sure... I think I'll...

    Removing/replacing stock tranducer on a Sundeck 220 (2010)

I got a new GPS with sounder (Garmin 546s), and have pretty much decided my best would be to replace the stock thru hull transducer. From what I can tell, only thing I will lose by removing stock 'ducer is depth reading on the system tach, which will be a little obsolete anyway. The transducer...

    Potential 280 Sundeck Owner

"I have been searching the forums and there are not many threads on the 280, any particular reason?" I'll *speculate* that there might not be a lot of these around, as when you get into that size most people might prefer something with a cabin. That said, there are two Sundecks in the mooring...

    Garmin 441s or 541s for a Sundeck 220

Decided to splurge and go with the 546s. On a related note, been looking at pics of the boat from last summer. I REALLY wanna go boating bad!!! Thanks again for the advice everyone - it became apparent the 5" models will fit in fine, and if I got a 4" I'd probably regret it later.

    Garmin 441s or 541s for a Sundeck 220

Hey - the 5" model looks fine! Thanks for the pic and all the other feedback.. I had drawn some outlines on paper of the two sizes, but my boat is covered for the winter, so tough to climb in check out. Think I'll go for the 541 or 546. I did briefly considered the 640, but don't need the...

    Garmin 441s or 541s for a Sundeck 220

I'm considering a GPSMAP 441s or 541s, or maybe really splurging and getting a 546s. I'm concerned the 541 might be overkill and look awkwardly large on the helm of a 22' boat. The 441 is a little less than twice the over all size of the 378 I have now (shown in the pics), the 541 is a little...
