OMG - had the same thing happen to me, but lost the "C" clip to the cable connection. Thankfully I didn't hit anyone and was near a dead stop though. Had to back in with one engine = no fun, but managed it.
Sorry to hear about your dust up.
I wish I could be more helpful. I have the same hull configuration from the rub rail down, but have diesel engines with bigger props. Fully loaded my sweet spot for cruising is 18 knots and I need about 14 knots to get on plane. Full throttle, no water or gear and half fuel; she'll make...
Wow, absolutely beautiful. I think I would prefer that scenery to what we have here in Florida any day. Of course there is a trade off, but that's incredible. **jealous**
In my life I've discovered that the extremes of just about anything, ruins just about everything.
I'm a Christian and conservative in most ways. My best friend and business partner of 20 years is Jewish and is liberal in most ways. We balance each other out socially and fiscally. He gets...
I put a 32" in the Salon and a 20" in the forward cabin. Probably could have squeezed a 22" in, but it would have been a PITA to pull off.
Edit, go for the LED LCD if Santa has those in stock. Brighter, clearer picture and a wider viewing angle.
I worked for years at a company that was 100% Third Generation Jewish owned and managed (two families). These people made sure that a massive Christmas party was held each year. They always attended and stayed the entire night. They only recognized legal holidays, so nobody had Hanukkah off...
I used to have the Shakespeare mounted on the arch. I now have it installed under the dash and get the same performance results. You could also opt for a rail mount that you can stash when not in use.
Have heard good reports for both. I have the Shakespeare and it works great. We anchor out every chance we get and can find about 34 channels off air between Tampa Bay and Sarasota Bay. Most are HD. Consequently, the HD off air is far superior to the HD you will get from cable.
I am really taken with the lines of your boat. It's beautiful. As mentioned above, I too enjoyed your thread on getting her home. I think this is my favorite Sea Ray. We originally planned to use our current boat as a step toward the exact boat you have, but found she is a little too big for...
Hmmm... the male end looks like a standard 30amp shore power connector with a 20amp female adapter at the other end.
Edit: the female end appears to be the type used for some RV shore power connections
When I first saw her out of the water (initial survey) = Big, scary big since it's my first boat
Docked at our marina with real yachts all well over 50' = Small
Docked at the Key West Bight = Tender
Docking at Caladisi Island = Huge
Wash, wheel and wax = Big
At the fuel dock = Big
90 miles off...
We were out in the same area fishing that day and probably passed these guys as we came in. Can't say for sure because they weren't the only ones ignoring the weather that day. The seas were nearly 2' to 4' when they set out and the weather and winds went absolutely crazy for the next 48...
37' is a lot of boat for gas engines and that specific boat would certainly benefit from the torque of diesel engines, especially in tight quarters. I can't imagine my boat with gas engines, it would be a pig.
A re-power of this boat to diesel would likely cost a fair bit more than the boat...
I've been using the Hurley Davit on my 370DB for 4 years. I'm on my second set and hate it. Bought the first set direct from Hurley and the powder-coat blistered within the first 12 months. Plastic inserts and riveted rail covers fell off within 18 months. I extended my platform and it is...
Seems like a lot of boat for gas engines. Having been there myself on the refit, yes it will cost a lot of money. I've been stem to stern renovating and refurbishing mine and would hate to put the real number on paper for fear of my wife seeing it.
In the end, it's my first boat. I love...
This is exceptionally dangerous. Glad you're ok. When I first got my boat, I found myself in a similar situation. I was on plane (probably 18 knots), came off the top of a wave and stuffed the bow into the bottom of the next. I was in 4' to 6' seas and operating in 8' to 10' of water. I...
Really depends on wave height, period and direction and your speed. I've been beat senseless in 4' to 6' in Tampa Bay and enjoyed the ride in 10' to 12' rollers with a long period 90 miles offshore. Was able to make 18 knots between Key West and Marco in 6' seas with no problem as the wave...
Once you've verified that the pump is primed, if there is till a problem, it could be the relay is bad (or embarrassingly - the seacock is closed. I did this once). The relay is what turns on the water pump independent of the A/C unit(s)
