Mine has been destroyed by sun and weather. It is not 6" or 8"! The locking hatch is 6.5" with an outside diameter of 8 7/8". Screw spacing is 8 1/4" apart. Hole opening is 7 1/4". Can't find anything that works. Any help would be great...This is a 270 Sundancer....Thanks, Mike.
Was out for a ride tonight and lost all ignition. Cruising at 3600rpms with the 454/330hp carb motor. Have gas and no spark. Noticed I have no tach, temp or oil pressure gauges when cranking the engine over. Still have power trim and lighting but no spark. I did not take apart the multipin...
Changed the 454 motor in my 270DA after freeze damage. Started fine but the oil pressure gauge is pegged at 80 lbs. It did it as soon as I turned on the key and while running. Engine running fine but did the sending unit die? Water temp and alternator guages fine also. Same year motor and...
Well......last fall I had my block/exhaust maniforlds freeze (in a quick freeze snap) and popped two freeze plugs and broke both exhaust manifolds on my 454. Thawed the block/manifolds, put in two new freeze plugs and started the engine and winterized the engine. I did leave the exhaust...
This story begins by popping two freeze plugs on my 454 in late October! I thawed the motor and winterized but noticed I cracked both exhaust manifolds. There was no water in the oil at this point. I replaced both manifolds and all is running well. I did not change the oil last fall but did...
I'm at Sea School in Long Island (Freeport) and it's a Sea Ray Dealer!!! New 420 Sundancer sitting right here for me to drool over. Even in snow she is pretty! 6 days of school starts tomorrow...
Pulled the 270 a few weeks ago and she did not want to start.....dry carb. Had to crank it more than usual to fill the carb from typical QJ leak down.
Should I go with a new mechanical on my 1990 or just go for an electric pump? Pro's and Cons? May change my cooling impeller while I'm working...
I was invited to a meeting tonight by our lead Captain. He said it was a good idea to be a member when holding a Captains license. Is any one here a member? I guess you need a background check and thumb print on file to join. Homeland Security is a big part of the Coast Guard now more than...
Well.....we really are not using the Sundancer for over-nighting but more entertaining. Looking for a bit less cabin and more cockpit seating and performance. Looking for twin 5.7mags as a starting point because twins now spoiled me as I work on my Captains license. Bravo's or Alpha 1's? Not...
Well I passed my Senior Deck Hand Training today. I ran the whole trip from leaving the dock to returning to dock with the Captain standing by. No bumps or bruises to 76 passengers. The 65ft Hiawatha has twin out-drive Volvo Diesels and plenty of power and is easy to maneuver with the twin...
Monday I have a meeting to discuss getting my USCG Captains License. It would be to operate a twin IO Diesel replica paddle wheeler on our river here in PA. It holds about 300 passengers on two levels and is about 70ft long. I have boated on this river my whole life and at 53 years of age...
The view of the frozen bay is beautiful from the Hospital! Yes....we are at Hamot Hospital with our son. He was riding his road racing bicycle and was struck by a internationally known delivery truck. He is in ICU but doing fine and off the ventilator. Bike helmet saved him but still has a...

Our work on Saturday...Came out beautiful! We can now launch up to a 50ft boat! One of our members has a 45ft Cigarette and will love this. We put in steel bridge decking that was donated to us to improve our Launch Ramp. Concrete logs support the decking and 2B store will fill the voids...
Just picked up a 2000 R80 Raymarine Pathfinder Radar/Chartplotter for my boat. I currently have a Garmin 541S as my first Chartplotter/GPS/Fishfinder and happy with that. My question is I need a trunnion mount for it and need to research if my Garmin will talk to the Raymarine. I don't...
I plan on writing a letter to the Govenor of NY stating I will no longer vaction or spend money in the state due to their draconian gun laws just passed. I feel bad for those who live there and love NY Wines but Erie, PA wines are good enough for me. Lakes in NY are awesome also but as a gun...
I ask my friends little girl what she wanted to be when she grew up.
She said President of the United States.....her parents beamed with pride.
So I ask her...If you were President of the US, what would be the first thing you would want to do?
She replied....I would give food and housing to...
