what model 280 are you talking about???? all the 280's on the parts catalog have the script style emblems and not the oval.... let me know and i will try and help you locate
the factory did use screws for some boats, i think it was plant related and glue for other boats. screws work great as the glue still seems to be a problem. though 3/4" seems a bit close to me they come fromt he factory a couple of inches apart.
sea ray's have hull liners in them with a foam or "gunk" in between the two pieces. the foam has air pockets in it thus not allowing a "shoot thru" transducer to read correctly. why not use a thru hull transducer like they do from the factory???? i am not a fan of transom mount transducers as...

how about taking your holesaw, cut a hole in a piece of cardboard, then slide your transducer in the ole to see how it fits......... run the holesaw backwards to prevent the tearing of the cardboard......... very simple!!!!!
been in the buisness for 17 years and have never heard of this. maybe asking to do something on a stock boat but not a customers boat without his/her permission...... keep us updated.
have they done a fuel pressure check? fuel pressure regulator? injectors leaking down?
got to go back to basics. fire fuel and compression..... forget that it is an mpi.
the bad thing about water temp alarms is that they olny read water temp. if there is no water in the thermostat housing for it to read then it will not go off. but i can say from what you are telling us, i can almost gaurantee you havent hurt anything, but i would check allyour exahust hoses...
i agree, this is one of my biggest complaints after changing a customers oil. have had several this year that swear we didnt change it becasue it is as black as when they brought it in. very hard argument to win.
