Foul water coming from somewhere... We launched April 9. The weather has been mostly chilly and not much fun until a couple of weeks ago. Around then, we started notice an unpleasant odor, not so prevalent at first and over the days becoming increasingly worse. It was most noticeable when we...

If they are beeping once at a regular interval every 30 the 60 seconds then it is probably low voltage from the batteries on the port side. I had a similar issue this past Spring, a bad converter/charger was the culprit. Being connected to shore power and showing full AC voltage didn't matter...

    1. going for my second winter w this boat and will shrink wrap again as I have with past boats. I had a discussion with one of my dock neighbors about shrink wrap vs canvas re-usable. He said "the day that his canvas winter cover reached the end of it's life he was thrilled to get rid of it. It...

Wasn't anything more scientific than coming up with the closest match to the original that had failed. The OEM was a Protech 12-40, which lasted 12 years. If anything I would have opted for "more power" and gone to 12-50. Looking over the specs as well as the tight space to mount the thing, I...

I replaced the charger/converter yesterday afternoon and I have one very happy boat. Some of you longtime 420/44 owners may know much of this already...Some lessons learned. *Check the status running condition of the charger nearly as often as checking the oil. *The first thing that shut off...

I did some disconnecting. Battery leads solid and tight. It seems the battery charger is toast. I had to remove it to test it, removed the battery leads and I've got 117-120V Ac in but nothing out. Stilled baffled that thee engine would cut out from really low battery. I just ordered a new one...

Ok so I have some electrical intrigue and any input would be appreciated. I have a major power drain on the port side...so bad the batteries get "stone dead". I'll do things in chronological order. This is not a problem but may be a clue Several weeks ago we had the heat running and a...

The cabin key for most of us is an "Ilco T06". I bought the blanks at my friendly MarineMax parts department for $16 each. Brought them to a local locksmith who had them hanging behind the counter. His price...$5.75 each. The following pic from top to bottom...the new key, the MarineMax blank w...

I laid it out as keeping the seams as straight as possible and came up with 102.5 inches wide outside dims. The points are 2 inches wide not including the zipper. With Mother Natures blessing, we pull the wraps in 15 days, I'll zip this thing onto the aft of the hard top and confirm some more...

    eliminating analog guages

I'm thinking of pulling the SR Navigator and gauges and completely filling the whole space with a big screen (16 inch will just fit) chartplotter. Part of the idea is to upgrade the VesselView to enable electronic gauge view on the newly installed screen. I'm a little hesitant about eliminating...
