Another option here is to relocate the pitot so that you can get to it easily. The pitot entry hole is usually in the outdrive which clogs very easily and is hard to get to.
I recently had the local boat shop mount an external pitot sensor to the aft end of the boat when they had it out for...
I just bought a Mermaid Air unit from Marine Wholesalers. It has a 5 year factory warranty and is built in Florida, and shipping was free. Almost all compressors, even Cruiseair, are made overseas, so "buying American" isn't a possibilty.
It was $1289 for a reverse cycle (heating and cooling)...
Gentlemen, one and all,
I appreciate the inputs. Looks as if I have a lot of options to consider. I do like the thought of putting in a shut off valve that can be opened whenever this happens.
Thanks

I replaced the A/C on my 1993 Sundancer 290 yesterday. Got everything hooked up, then cleaned the seawater strainer on the pump. It now will not pump, so am assuming I lost the prime on the pump.
I tried several things, close the seacock for a couple of minutes, then open, leave the seacock...

This is a great thread. This is exactly what I was looking for when I had A/C issues.
As it turns out, Windjammer came over and we troubleshot the system and concluded the compressor was bad. I already have another one on the way.
I printed out this entire thread and will use same to get...
Hey, forgot to ask you. Since your boat is essentially the same, can you tell me who made the A/C unit? Model says SB109. Also says American Air Co., but there isn't any such company or model number per the Internet.
Not looking for an access plate, I just didn't know until you told me that there was access between the tank and the cockpit floor. That is where I will look.
Thanks for the help
Thanks, I'll check it out. I have replaced them before on my ski boat, but they were easier to get to. I didn't see that there was access to the tank, but will check again.
I have a 93 Sundancer 290 and am trying to figure out how to get to the fuel tank to replace the sending unit. Anyone have a clue? Also would like to know who has the best parts inventories for a 93 as well. Thanks in advance.
I have a 1993 Sundancer 290 and presumably, the sending unit for the fuel tank has malfunctioned. I am not able to locate the access to the tank so I can replace the sending unit.
Anybody know how to do so?
