The short leg is for a sun pad and that folding cushion (if it's not for the v-berth) goes on top of the table to make the sun pad. The flap should hook to snaps under the table.

I tow my 250 with the cover on but it does have hook style snaps at the front and regular snaps on the rest of it. Never had an issue and it's clean inside when you get to where you are going.

Did you check for voltage at the light? Maybe as simple as a fuse.

Here's mine. The factory one is useless.

Mine had a crack so I pulled it off and recessed two stainless steel cup holders in it's place. It's nice having a cupholder that actually holds a cup. - Just check your clearance underneath.
