Sea Trials were an absolute success. Basically, everything people have said on this board is true. The boat comes out of the hole with very little bow rise and is maintaining a plane at 15mph without a problem. No more jockeying the throttle to hold speeds compatible with wakeboarding and...
OK! Tabs are on. Everything went somewhat according to plan! Missing a few nuts and a bolt which required a trip to the hardware store but otherwise I believe all went well. No obvious signs of damage!!:smt038 Installation was pretty simple but at times I felt the instructions were a little...
This may seem like a silly question but...
As I get ready to drill holes in my pure unblemished hull I was wondering how deep I need to drill. I don't see a reason to drill all the way through the hull if I can just drill a shallower hole. I'm interested in hearing what depth y'all drilled to...
Final Update
Climbed under the dash and followed my ignition wires from the key back. About half way back at the area of the remote control there was a problem. Every time I wiggled the wires in this area the engine shut down. I disconnected everything and cleaned the connections. Now all...
No definitive answer yet. I haven't had an opportunity to dive into it. Number one theory is a loose wire in the wiring harness for the ignition system. Once I get the chance I will be diving under the dash and chasing the wires from front to back looking for a loose connection. My mechanic...
I hope someone can give me a little help here. I have a 182 Bow Rider powered by a 4.3L mercruiser. I have 320 hours on the motor.
This weekend I started having some serious problems with power loss. While pulling the kids down the lake on a tube I started experiencing momentary power...
From what I understand the SX series is not recommended for the rounded hull. I have a 2002 182 which has the same hull you have. I sent a picture of the hull to Nauticus and they recommended the stainless steel tabs. Apparently, the composite tab brackets don't work well with curved hull.
In my experience a boat that size needs hydraulic tabs. A whale tail is pretty much a waste of money on a small boat let alone one the size of yours. I'd remove the whale tail and have the tabs installed, no question.
