Hi Bop,
I'm in the process of getting a Magic Marine Tow for ourselves and your comment about your friend's poor experience was brought to my attention by a follower on my Facebook Page. Is there any way I can speak directly to your buddy to learn more and to see what the manufacturer did or...
No I haven't - yet! I have two hoses yet to replace, the pump out line from the new tank (I have a a series of videos on that project on my YouTube Channel), as well as the line from the Y-Valve back to the tank. After doing sooooooooooooooo much work on the system this season, I decided to...
That's called the bellows. Yes, that can become brittle & crack after many years. As your boat is similar vintage, I'd have a look at that if you've exhausted all other possibilities. Apart from accessibility challenges on our Sedan, tearing apart the pump is straightforward and relatively easy...
After spending way too much time and effort this season on our Vacuflush toilet system this season, I had yet another issue that required some more cursing and farting around. Not to mention a good deal of frustration and time.
This time it was a cranky vacuum pump, cycling on and off for no...
Sounds like you had a less than positive experience, Jim. That's unfortunate :-(
We were lucky, as our time with the CC staff was actually better than I had expected! We had done lots of prep ahead of time to make sure everything was in order for the scrutinizing that we were expecting...
Happy to help! That said & with any luck, that will be my last 'project video' for awhile. Gotta get out to do some more serious cruising - and videoing ;-)
Cheers, Paul.
Thanks, eh? :-) Happy to have that work done. Just this past weekend I did the line from our forward toilet. That was a SIX HOUR ordeal!! Not a fun project at all, but my Anchor Girl is happy & that's all that counts ;-)
Thanks Pete.
As I mentioned to bahamabreisus, that is the hose that our local marina sells. I had used it on two prior boats with good results. The black hose from the factory seemed to be a bit heavier in construction, but I don't know if that had any impact on the longevity of odor...
Great! Happy to have helped out :-) Nice shot of the McDonald Cut, BTW. Have you seen my videos from there?? (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ecaufld31Bw)
Thanks, Jimmy Buoy. I figured if I was in there anyway, might as well share the job to offer some insights wherever it may help!
BTW, we had a chance to both dock our current boat 'Boogaboo IV' in Sarnia AND drop a few dollars with the Canada Customs folks when we imported her into Canada from...
If the shirt fits the job, wear it ;-)
I sew you are in East Harbor, Ohio?? We bought our last Sea Ray -300 Sundancer - due north of you in Kingsville, Ontario. Small world . . .
Thanks Jeff. Back when we had our 268 Sundancer, it had a porta-potti toilet setup, with no external holding tank. I ended up installing a proper Jabsco manual flush + new holding tank. Back in them days there was nothing in the way of online videos to learn from, so I'm happy to share this (&...
As part of the ongoing battle with stinky smells coming from our toilet systems (including complete holding tank replacement), I recently replaced the poop line from toilet #1 to the Vacuflush vacuum accumulator tank. This involved dismantling the toilet and cursing my way through the project. ...
Ya, you saw that one, eh :-/ Damned speel check ;-)
That little oversight has been removed from my Twitter feed. Glad to see you are following along though - how about a little 'hello' next time you are there? Always nice to talk to fellow Sedan Bridge aficionados - if you are willing to talk...
After long last, I finally have an extended video from my biggest project to date aboard 'Boogaboo IV', that of putting in a replacement waste holding tank.
Hold your breath as we dive into the engine room and follow along with step-by-step accounting of how I was able to fit an over sized...
Agreed, the natural sounds of the morning and all the happy creatures greeting the day was the perfect soundtrack for this one. We were wandering around the marina the other evening, right after a wicked summer thunderstorm and got (too little) clips of the setting sun. The background sounds of...
