One last question. If water flow is weak, due to a dirty or clogged strainer, can that cause the motor fan to overheat in any way? Or cause some chain reaction that could lead to it?
After I noticed I had no air movement I turned the system off. After 3 minutes turned the system back on and everything worked fine. Can the motor overheat and termally shut off as a fail safe?
Sorry for the poor explanation. The smell was definitely something overheating. "Johnsross3" thanks for the direction and the lead. Is it possible for one of the components, fan or fan controller, to overheat and not be destroyed?
AC was working great until Sunday morning. I have a 1995 Marine Air VHE 12K that appears to have a blower fan issue. The fan was not running, compressor was, and the fan motor was very hot. Turned system off for a few minutes and everthing worked fine. There was a burnt wire smell. Can I replace...
My boat has the fresh/closed cooling system (I think I'm saying that right?) and that engine was low on antifreeze. I wasn't able to take the boat out this weekend but hopefully that will solve my issue. I'll let you know.
My concern is re-welding something that didn't take in the first place:smt021 I'm going to take a look at the accessibility, or lack there of, and see if I can replace the base. Thanks for the input...I didn't mean to cause a stink!
The surveyor of the boat mentioned that if any part of the impeller was missing to flush the system...I don't think the previous owner did. Being a novice how can I perform the flush?
larrytbull- it appears we are having the same problem. Water is coming out of the ports with good flow. All I need to do is increase the rpm's and the temp comes right down. Please let me know what you find out.
That engine started to overheat on the sea trial during the survey. Once we bumped up the rpm's to 1200+ it cooled back to 145+/-. The surveyor thought the impeller needed to be replace, so we replace it. I also did a compression test on that engine and all cylinders tested good. That engine was...
Starboard engine temp will hit 200 degrees when RPM's are 800-900, after we have been cruising. Replaced the impeller, should I replace the thermostat?
I have a broken stanchion, port #4, the weld at the base plate cracked. Should I have it re-welded or replaced. If it needs to be replace where can I buy one?
Welcome aboard!
The 303 products are great. I just bought more High Tech Fabric Guard for my canvas. It works great and is the only product approved by Sunbrella.
