Dave,
I have v-drives on my '93 and it's not too horrible of a process. I will admit that the first time I replaced one of the pumps, I had ran out of existing swear words and started making up my own by the end of the process. After that, it has gotten much easier. A lot of it is done by...
Well, I've only had the boat for a little over a year. It was a repo and I had no idea what maintenance was done, or wasn't done, to it prior to me owning it so I addressed the primary maintenance items when I got it and spent some time running it to figure out what other maintenance needed to...
They've been fine so far. Everyone has been friendly and responsive and they keep the place in pretty good shape.
I pulled my boat late this past winter, after everything was frozen over and had to wait for a few warm days. As soon as the ice broke up, they got the boat out and made sure...
I've got a little different setup then you do since I've got v-drives, but I have to remove the entire pump in order to get to the impeller. After doing it a few times, it's not a big deal anymore, just takes some time.
I'll throw in my $.02 and say Bowley's Marina. I'm not sure how it compares cost wise with the others mentioned (I pay about $2,500/year for my 330) but I looked at about every marina in the area when I was trying to decide and thought Bowley's had the nicest "grounds". They have charcoal...
My experience with trying to find a stuffing box wrench was that you're going to have to get it online. The wrench WestMarine sells doesn't open wide enough, and most of the places I've looked online sell the same one. There is one online vendor (whose name escapes me) that sells a fixed...
Some water is definitely normal. As for tightening/repacking them, I can wedge myself in far enough to tighten the packing nuts, but I absolutely cannot see how someone could get down there to repack them. I'm pretty sure an EC would be different given the engine room layout, but with...
I'm at Bowley's Marina and like it pretty well. They maintain the facility well and are pretty easy to get along with. The pool is nice and it's at the mouth of the river so it's easy access to the bay but the work they've done on their bulkhead still offers good protection. I looked at a...
Sounds good. I'll give it a try. I'm assuming you mean to spritz it prior to buffing and it's ok if the area is a little damp when I buff?
Thanks a million for the quick response.
Anyone have any advice for using the Oxidation Remover? I'm trying to apply it above the rubrail as we speak and it's a nightmare. I wetsanded that area yesterday and it's totally dry, clean, and in the shade. When I buff the OR off, it's like it adheres to the surface and discolors the...
The battery in the bilge is the house battery. The two under the hatch on the port side are the starting batteries. I would definitely use a deep cycle model for the house battery.
Hope that helped.
If you don't mind sharing, who did you have do the blasting for you? I ended up taking the bottom paint off 1/2 of the hull myself, but it's just taking too long with other stuff I've got to do so I got a few quotes, but all were around $600 for just doing the other half of my 330!
My '93 is insured with Boat US. Couldn't have been easier. They required a survey, but i was getting one anyway. I don't think you'll have any problem finding coverage as long as there aren't any major issues with the boat.
I searched the forums for any prior threads on the topic, but could only find some references to painting outdrives, which doesn't apply for me. I'm contemplating trying Aquaguard for my bottom paint this year and was hoping to see if anyone had any experience with the brand...
I found exact replacements (round not hex) that are metal. If you can hold on till the morning I'll post the link when I get to my office. If I remember correctly, they were like $0.50 apiece. Little pricey, but they look good and should never break.

Agreed. I was on the 370 thinking to myself , "This is it?". Gorgeous boat, but I was underwhelmed from a space standpoint. I dunno... Maybe it's just me.
The Regals where nice, but the finish just isn't as nice. I have to say, I didn't like the Cruisers at all. The metal struts helping to...
Worst case scenario... I go spend an evening looking at new boats and then patronize a local establishment for the remainder of the night.
And the reason not to do this is.....?
(besides... Groupon had $5 boat show tickets a week or so ago)
Any opinions on the best GPS mounting option? I'm picking up a new Garmin 4210 setup tomorrow (replacing a GPSMap 2010C) and haven't been able to decide whether to flush mount, or put it on a bracket. My current unit is flush mounted and i'm pretty sure the new one will bit in that hole, so...
