    Heartbreaking news...

Probably, I'm looking into it. I am pricing everything. I know if I let the shop rebuild and repair, I'm looking at $14,000. I love this boat and just restored everything. Pulled the deck from the hull and resealed and replaced everything. I just don't want to give it up.

    Bilge Pump Problem - HELP!

Be sure that all of your fuses are getting good contact. Maybe clean the fuses or spin them in there contacts to ensure good contact. Did you check the contacts on the switch? they could be a bit corroded and need to be cleaned. My boat sat a long time and I had to clean most all contacts. I...

    engine just cut out.

I was checking the timing on my portside 5.7 merc. I got the timing tuned in just right and after idling for about five/ten minutes the motor just cut out. I started it back up and it surged down rpm's twice and then idled back at 650 and then cut out again. Third start and idled and then died...

    Replacing headliner in 88' 300da

Mine has the same foam backed dimpled fabric. I wish it was in good shape so I could leave it alone. I am replacing it with a foam backed marine vinyl. It looks pretty good and it will be easy to wipe down. I removed the radio cabinet with ease and the upper window shade cabinets. I ran a...

    Replacing headliner in 88' 300da

I should have specified this is the headliner in the salon/galley, not the v-berth. Do you have a seam in the salon/galley area on your headliner?

    Replacing headliner in 88' 300da

I took out the teak curtain holder up towards to the v-berth. I peeled the headliner back to expose a metal strap that was screwed into the deck to hold the foam backed carpet. This metal strap creates a seam along the ceiling about 12" back from the curtain holder. It seems that it was...

    leaks in 1988 300 weekender

I had to re-bed my pulpit as I knew it was in need. There are a lot of holes through the pulpit that can leak right at the V. Have you taken off the trim piece that goes on both sides of the V-berth to see if it is coming right at the 1 1/4 inch wood strip that the rub rail screws into? I...

A way to store a gun on board your boat

Yes, I keep a gun aboard due to the high rate of boat-jacking swampmonsters. Also my area has the largest population of sea creatures(some of the most vicious as well). Listen, I just want my family to be safe. What if I was out of rotten fish to club the monster.I could never forgive my self...

A way to store a gun on board your boat

I wanted to jump on that too! I just keep my gun on me or right next to me at all times. in an Uncle Mike's sidekick size 5 holster. It's micro fiber comfortable and covers the trigger. I like the theory of taking the "30 seconds" extra time to load the magazine and then chamber a...
