    Non responsive stereo remote control

Great day on the water today but the dash mounted stereo remote does not function. It is illuminated and the other remote on the swim platform functions properly. Also, when the remote on the swim platform is operated, the non functioning dash mounted remote properly displays the input into the...

    Basic battery question

My marina accidentally forgot to turn off my battery switch before putting the boat back into dry storage. It was set to Battery 1 which would not start. So, I set it to Battery 2 and all was well today. Now to my question - Is recharging a boat battery any different than an automotive battery...

    Speaker upgrade on a 2006 220 SD

Any experience with adding new speakers in a open bow Sun Deck? I'll try to remember to bring the tape measure tomorrow to verify the size of the speakers. While they sound decent, I'd love to hear about some speakers that would improve the sound. Any upgrades you'd like to share?

    Favorite Boating Snacks

Drawing inspiration from the recent "What are you drinking" post, what are your favorite boating snacks? For us its usually cheese and crackers, pistachios and peanuts in the shell. Anyone have any good boating snacks / recipes they'd like to share with the rest of the hungry group?

    Steering cables on a 2006 220 SD

I was informed today by my dealer that I need my steering cables replaced. They are charing 3 hours of labor and parts of around $100. As a first time boat owner, I'm surprised that after 18 months and 120 hours, something like steering cables would fail. When I asked the service department how...

    Non slip bow ladder suggestion?

Anyone have experience with making the steps of the bow swim ladder less slippery? The ladder off the swim platform has plastic inserts and is not slippery at all, but the bow ladder is quite slippery, espicially the bottom step. There is probably a tape or spray that would do the trick. Any...

Any one going to MAATS next week in Las Vegas?

MAATS is the Marine Aftermarket Accessories Tradeshow, where marine suppliers meet with marine distributors / dealers in an annual trade show and conference. I'll be out there and wondered if any other CSR folks were involved in the marine industry and are attending. Shows like this and others...

    Average dealer service time

What have you found to be the typical time for a Sea Ray dealer to get a boat in for service. As a first boat owner, all I can equate to is a car dealers service time. My Sea Ray dealer said today that they typicially are able to get to the service on a boat in 2-3 weeks. I am lucky to live...

    Time Stamp on CSR

Whenever I view the time of my last visit or time of a recent post, it seems off by many hours. Is the "official time" based on a certain time zone or is there a user setting that I need to change to reflect correct posting times? Jim

    Sluggish power steering

Just looking for thoughts on my first problem with our 2006 220 SD. We keep the boat in dry storage and have about 150 hours on the motor. A few months ago, one of the marina workers commented that my steering wheel seemed a bit hard to turn as he launched the boat in the river. While it seemed...

    Hello from Charleston, SC

We purchased our first boat, a 2007 220 Sundeck last October and are enjoying it tremendously! Having moved here from Massachusetts 4 years ago, we realized that Charleston would be a wonderful place to enjoy boating. So, after more than a few tense moments learning some decent docking skills in...
