Have a look at the Cruisers Yachts 3672, 370, or 390. All based on the same hull. 390 has a hard top and IPS. Forward stateroom has a door, aft is a pullout on the same level of the rest of the boat. No cave to crawl into.

We actually have a winch in the trunk hatch to attach to the dinghy and it takes all the work out of using this style davit.
Not to send anyone away from this site, but I have no pictures available and these guys put a bit of work into the solution...
Once you remove the plastic bezel, there is a screw on each side. Give them each 4 or 5 turns and it will slide out. The transducer has a quarter turn connector, but the power cables may lead back to a terminal block.

It is the gauge. Specifically the control board behind the LCD. I actually have some spares, but only of the newer type. If you disassemble the gauge (gently pry off the clear plastic bezel, breaking the weld), you will see a ribbon cable. If it is soldered on both ends, you are out of luck, but...
The 3800 will not work unfortunately. What has failed on the unit? I have repaired 3 of them now and have some spare parts.
