How long do you think I can leave my boat in the salt water without flushing the motor?
I trailer my boat, but need to do some trailer maintenance and repairs. Between work and family, I might have only a few hours each weekend to get it done. I can tie up at a friend's dock, but I may need...
This boat has never failed to crank; until now.
Here's the deal. Turn key to "on" and don't get the familiar low oil pressure alarm sound. That's got me curious, but don't really know where to start tracing it.
I try to crank and engine turns over fine but won't fire. All fluid levels are...
We will be headed to Panama City / St. Andrews next week. Trailering over from Pensacola to stay Tuesday 7/8 through Sunday 7/13. My parents and sister are bringing their RVs and have sites at St. Andrews.
Do you know anything about the ramp at St. Andrews? Is it long enough to launch my 270...
I have the Marlin windlass by Lofrans and need some advice on maintenance. I have not done anything to it since I bought the boat 1.5 yrs ago. It runs fine, but I know it needs some type of lubricating, but don't know where to start. Does the clutch assembly come off? What do I need to do?
I must be missing some type of strap. The two biminis did not come with the boat. I got them from Great Lakes.
The bimini in the rear is what I am concerned about. I have everything on right as to the poles and zipper, but what do you do with that loose bow in the middle, does it get...
I know that the raw water pump comes on when the AC comes on, but does the pump run continuously after that? Does it cycle on and off with the compressor?
Thanks
Anyone stayed in the Destin, Fort Walton Beach area overnight. We are planning to run over from Pensacola for a couple of nights and stay at a transient slip. I have always overnighted on the hook so I have never shopped for a marina.
Any good spots?
As I stated in my other thread, I am doing some electronics upgrades, wiring and maintenance. One of the things on the list is to finally hook up the VHF to the GPS to enable the positioning transmit function of my DSC radio. I searched one thread, but they were talking + and -
I assume the...
I am installing a new Garmin 160c and after research and help from this forum (thanks flyboy) will do an in hull / epoxy of the transducer. I have never run a cable from the bilge to the helm, nor have I had to get "into" the helm for any maintenance or installs. I will also try to make the most...
I just got a Garmin 160c and have a temporary mount on the transom until I figure out exactly how and where to mount everything.
I saw on a previous thread that someone mounted a transom "style" transducer as an "in hull" transducer. I understand the need for a resin or mineral mount, but I...
I am getting ready to decorate the bow rails and bimini for a Christmas boat parade. I know that they make 12v light strings, but I have a bunch of regular 110v strings left over, and would rather not spend any more money.
Just wanted to see if anyone has ever set up 110v lights using a...
My snap in carpets are in good shape on the top, but the rubber backing seems to have "dried out" and is coming off. It makes a mess every time I handle the carpets.
I am scared to price new ones from SeaRay.
Has anyone out there put a new backing on them? Any ideas? Thanks
I uploaded a signature picture and it is showing on my UserCP page and is of the allowable size, but is not showing under "signature preview" or any of my post. I uploaded a profile pic as well and it is not showing up. Please advise what I am doing wrong. Thanks.
I am looking at getting a full boat cover and was wondering how it will fit. Do you put it on over the cockpit cover using the two telescoping poles to hold it up? Also, how do you deal with the bow pulpit w/ anchor? Is it normally covered too? BTW, I keep it on a trailer. Thanks.
We just did our first boat/camping trip on our boat. When I purchased it, the cabin dinette table post was no where to be found. It is SeaRay part # 689232 and according to my dealer, it is no longer made. We used the cockpit table post instead, but it is 3 inches shorter and was not...
