Forgive my laziness but this thread is quick long. Are you making any other stops in the GSB other than Shinnecock? Perhaps any stops at Fire Island? I would love to meet some of the CSR crew.
Wow....this is very scary to even look at. Glad everyone is ok. On a similar note I guess, I had always wondered (because this is how my twisted mind works) since I have been towed in by Sea Tow a couple of times, what if something like this happened to the Sea Tow guy as he is towing me. Do I...
For full disclosure it was my mechanic and not me that removed them. He did say that some new boats today don't use them and they weren't necessary. Is that not accurate? Should I be considering putting new ones in?
Oh...whew. I thought you were going to tell me that taking them out is the stupidest thing I could have done...LOL.... Mine were melted and had broke off and were causing a partial blockage. My temp was ok right up to 3000 rpms then she would overheat. Check the manifolds, risers, water...
Hey all....I haven't been on here in a long time. I hope everyone is well and is getting ready for another fun boating season.

Quick question... my boat is going to need to be bottom painted before next season. I wanted to know if I am able to get a good deal now is there any draw back to having it painted in the fall or is it best in the spring? Is there a certain temperature it needs to be for the paint? It will sit...
I know you said you are living with it but have you ever had this looked into in the early stages? I have just spent a lot of money on this valve job and if I only increased about 5-6 knots I am going to be pissed!!
So this is interesting. Do you think this is normal for our boats based on age? Others have posted in this thread that we should be at 35+ knots. At WOT I am at about 4400 RPM's. I just had my prop redone, full tune up and valve job. Any thoughts on my carb question?
Im baaaaack.
So after about a month of this issue I thought I was in the clear..WRONG!!!
The entire valve job has been completed, along with a new intake since my old one was a rusted mess along with new risers.
Anyway, take the boat out Saturday looking to air her out. Well, noticed a big...
