looking for a 48 sundancer blue -private owner

I have blue 320 and while I like the looks of the boat I tend agree with others here about it being problematic. There are a few discoloration spots on my gel coat that I just live with because I'm worried about the can of worms I'd be opening by giving it back to the dealer to try and fix...

The Case For a Simpler Life

Some of you may relate to this article or find it thought provoking. A few quotes from the article The Case For a Simpler Life: “You know I’m just tired of always having to pay someone to keep all this stuff working. We’re not having fun anymore. I need to take a break from boating.”...

Building the Gerr Marine Offshore Skiff

I found an article that captures the essence of why I am building a new 28' boat while I am upside down in my existing 32' boat. While your at it, check out my blog site for updates on building the Gerr Marine 28' Offshore Skiff. Cheers Jeff

Building the Gerr Marine Offshore Skiff

Just posted the latest building update on the WB forum. This latest post has pix and commentary on creating full size paper patterns, 1/4" plywood templates and then using both to mark and cut the actual frame pieces. Went to Maine Boatbuilders Show today to scope out solid fuel cabin...

    Hours per year?

About 200 or so for us; and to another post, that only counts the time the engine is running. We use our boat a lot, during the week as well as weekends.

Building the Gerr Marine Offshore Skiff

Enjoy the links. There are just so many awesome boats out there and really talented designers. I spent a year studying yacht design through the Westlawn Yacht Design Program and while I learned a tremendous amount about boat design I also got exposed to so many great designers of yesterday...

Building the Gerr Marine Offshore Skiff

Oh yeah, even better, here's a link to the Wooden Boat / Professional Boatbuilder Directory of Boat Plans and Kits Without bashing production boats, the more you study non-production and custom boats the more realize just how much of a production boat is there to sell it at the boat show and...

Building the Gerr Marine Offshore Skiff

Hi everyone, Ever since upgrading to a 320 I have missed the ability to trailer my old 270 back and forth between the lake and the ocean. In 2007 we had our 320 hauled to the ocean for an early summer cruise and we're doing it again this year for a run down to Cape Cod and islands. But...

    60 degrees this Wednesday!

Where are you on the lake? I am at West Alton Marina and have a camp on Rattlesnake. Three weeks ago the marina was planning on launching boats the last week of March, first of April. Hoping to open our camp in the next 2 weeks. Cheers Jeff

    320/340

We looked at both and bought the 320 because it was $40K less than 340 and aside from being a tad smaller was otherwise almost identical. The only thing I would do differently is go with v-drives rather than the BIIIs but our's was a left-over and we got a good deal on it. You'll...

    Spring?

Lake Winnipesaukee, NH, is already at 38 degrees; which usually doesn't happen until early April. The bays are opening up and I've heard there's open water in the broads. My marina expects to be launching boats in late March. I remember one ice out about 4 years ago; had the boat in the...

Source for cabin light rocker switch and plate

Yup, I have a 2006 320 and there is no switch to turn off the lights you mention. It's on my 2010 project list to install a switch, so thanks for the links. Jeff

Nantucket / Vineyard - Recommended Marinas

I just checked Edgartown Harbormaster site and August is available right now. We'll be booking our stays this weekend; really excited to get back on the ocean. Thanks all for the great tips, pointers and guidance. In 2007 we logged nearly 500 miles during our 2 week trip; it was in late...

Ok, we will definitely avoid that situation! Cutty Hunk is a great place to grab a mooring; sounds like Oak Bluffs is not.
