WTB Sea Ray 370DB Sedan Bridge

Very good information. Appreciate it. Got a quote to ship a 370 from Md. to Pensacola. Can leave the flybridge on, but height requires two escorts etc. 10K. Running down the coast from there and around into the Gulf, than up to PNS is about 2000 miles. Hate to start out with new, somewhat...

WTB Sea Ray 370DB Sedan Bridge

Thought maybe it wouldn't be so difficult since it was an option, but your observation is probably correct in that the interior construction is quite different. Since the 400 has been suggested did it come with a lower helm?? I'll have to see what I can find. Just found in a book that the 310...

    Sea Ray with Cummins engines??

Appreciate your reply. I figure it would have to be 32 or longer to work unless went to single engine type configuration with engine under the main cabin. And some of those boats are a wet ride.

WTB Sea Ray 370DB Sedan Bridge

Need controls. My other post includes a paragraph on the use of the boat, hence my "wants".

WTB Sea Ray 370DB Sedan Bridge

Ok, since you asked, here goes. Boat has varied uses. Sight Seeing, 4th of July fireworks up the river, Blue Angles air show, 24 miles to the pass to get into the Gulf to fish, than out 24 miles and back and forth to fishing holes, all kinds of weather. Family group up to 20 with 9 great-grand...

    Sea Ray with Cummins engines??

Did they put the Cummins engines in any of the smaller boats, that is shorter than the 37 footers and up? If so, any with flybridge? Thanks

Didn't realize I did it twice, sorry about that

WTB Sea Ray 370DB Sedan Bridge

One with Cummins engines and the lower helm. Found one with Cummins, but no lower helm, and a few with lower helm, but gas engines. Now the question--to convert gas to Diesel is very costly, but how about adding a lower helm to a 370DB that already has the Cummins engines in it?

    Sea Ray 370 Sedan Bridge??

Considering purchase possibilities of the 370 Sedan Bridge produce 1991 to 1997. Would like one with lower helm which was an option and Cummins Diesels. Can give up the lower helm but need the Cummins Diesels. A few questions come to mind before I travel, sea trial and survey one. If with lower...

    Rant: Sea Ray Engineers/Designers

Have been considering a 34 foot Sea Ray, but after reading this and the deck coring issues I think I will pass. Had a Californian 34 once and it had great access to items, so know it can be done. It also was an older boat, 1984 but probably better built.

Considering a Sea Ray to purchase--need information

Sounds like a survey and a sea trial would be money well invested. Thanks

    Sea Ray 340 sedan bridge

Looking at subject boat. Was the coring an issue in the 1983-1987 vintage boat? How was the stability at the dock/anchor. How much rocking?? Is the hull solid fiberglass? Any issues with the transom, or trusses in the hull? Did they make any of them with straight drive vice V-drive? 17 inch the...

Considering a Sea Ray to purchase--need information

Considering a trip to look at a 1983 Sea Ray, early version of the 340 Sedan Bridge model. I am aware Pascoe had written extensively about the coring issues in the Sea Rays. Does this year and model fall into that group? Parker and Mcknew indicate it is a 20 knot boat with the 350HP gas engines...

    340 sedan bridge (early) performance

No need to reply. Got on one yesterday---light boat, deep V, rocks back and forth anchored at the dock as we walked around in it. Not good. Engine room really tight with diesels in it, so will pass and keep looking. Thanks

    340 sedan bridge (early) performance

Still looking. Going to look at a 1984 340 Sedan Bridge. Searched the site but didn't come up with much on the specifc boat. Again, can they be piloted from the lower helm with reasonable visibility over the bow. Don't have to see logs but would like to see buoys and boats. How do they handle in...

A 1984, 340 Sea Ray sedan bridge?? Tell me about it, thanks

I think probably I will pass on the 34. We do our own maintenance to the extent we can and at my age it sounds pretty tight even with straight 6 cyl diesels. I also feel we would be pushing it to get the speed desired at loaded weight. I sea trialed a 35 foot Californian Convertible last week...

A 1984, 340 Sea Ray sedan bridge?? Tell me about it, thanks

Thanks for the information. Point well made regarding the props. When run throught boatdiesel.com calculator the 210HP would like a 21 inch prop. Since I didn't know the allowable prob diameter I couldn't enter it, but at 17 inches it will probably ask for 24 pitch or more, since the 21...

A 1984, 340 Sea Ray sedan bridge?? Tell me about it, thanks

Considering a 1984 340 Sedan Bridge with twin 210HP Cummins diesels. Boat is 7 hour drive for us so would appreciate a little help from the experts. Understand from previous post boat is straight drive. Now the questions--With a 8kw Onan generator how much room is there regarding the...

Appreciate the reply. Will put the boat on my list if the present contract boat doesn't work out.

34 foot sea ray fly bridge sedan, what is it year 1984

AD indicates it is a 34' Sea Ray Fly Bridge Sedan. Looks like the 340 Sedan Bridge but an early one since year is 1984. The power boat guide indicates the popular 350HP gas was used and is listed as V-drive. The subject boat is diesel powered and the broker says straight drive. Is there room to...
