In the trunk of whatever crappy car I moved from Michigan to Florida with 25 years ago was a nearly new, heavy duty, red plastic ice-scrapper. Not one to ever throw any potentially useful object away, I kept the thing handy over the years. Anyway, I just noticed that the new plastic floating...
It has been my experience that most blisters show up the day after your boat is hauled, or even later. I used to get my boat hauled at Playboy Marine in Ft. Lauderdale and could usually expect to find a few after letting it dry for a couple of days. Good luck.
I just returned from a trip to Naples, FL and along the way, while raising my engine hatch, I heard a grinding metal on metal sound. Back at the dock I hit the grease fittings on the lifts about 40 times each. Sounds a lot better now.
I'm leaving this post because this was basic maintenance...
The cost of the fuel for my wife and I to get to Key West and back, 350 mile round trip, is higher than the cost of two 1st class tickets to Maui. Washington's complete lack of a viable energy policy sure takes a lot of fun out of boating.
Does anyone know for certain what the port fuel tank capacity is? There is a plate on the starboard tank that reads 130 gal. Total posted fuel capacity is 275 gal. Is there anyone out there who is absolutely certain that the port fuel tank size is 145 gal.? Also, would anyone know why Sea...
With assholes like that in your area an inflatable would be a better idea. I think you nailed it early on, they will be back and will steal your new dinghy or motor no matter what lock you use.
On my boat I have a Solstice 4 person inflatable w/ an electric motor. It all fits under the...
Does anyone have any idea if we are still able to access older model SeaRay electrical diagrams from the SeaRay website? I have been looking and do not see them any longer. Just the parts lists. I had downloaded mine earlier but somehow lost it when I upgraded to a new computer w/ Win 7.
Anyone know where the amp for the cockpit speakers is located on the 390da? I looked behind the panel and it's not there. Also, any idea where the fuse or breaker would be?
I used to have the same power in a 1995 370da and I can tell where the "sweet spot" definately is not. I forget the exact RPM, but it looks like you are gaining about a knot and a half of speed with only about a 100 or so increase in RPM. In fact, this is the point where the other 2 barrels of...
I have sold two boats, both 38 feet LOA, on Ebay without any problems. It mostly comes down to price anyway, especially with potential buyers of a boat your size. Just make sure everything works, service is current and that it is super clean and don't let the boat out of your sight until the...
Extremely nice boat! Way to go.
Curious though, how did you ever get a slip in Newport? My wife and I were there last fall trying to scout one out. No luck.
I have a HP-275 dinghy this time around for my boat. Pretty happy with it although we have only used it a few times. BTW, there is no way that you should put more than a 3 HP outboard on this dinghy. I use an electric motor which is also stored under the floorboards.
I just ran my DA across the harbor to the club for New Years. No waves, no water, pretty clean bottom and 1/4 fuel. 3500 rpm 19 kts 32 gph.
From boattest.com : 1500 rpm 7.1 kts 5.7 gph 2500 rpm 9.7 kts 18 gph 4500 rpm 28.6 kts 55.4 gph
Think about Punta Gorda, FL which is a little North of Ft. Myers. The majority of homes here are reasonably priced canal homes. I've lived on the water in St. Pete and Clearwater as well as in Boca Raton and consider the move to Punta Gorda the smartest move I have ever made. The people are much...
