I have the 1990 280 and use 15x16 four blades and am very satisfied. Pulls out of the hole well and tops out at 35.6 mph at 4400 at end of season. Probably will run just a little better in spring with clean bottom and fresh props.:smt038

Just replaced one engine. Rebuild was $1975 and a new engine was $2700. Easy decision.. went with new Chevy 350 in the crate. Ordered on Monday and was delivered to my marina on Wed. AM. Call Marine Engines at 800-786-7639. My mistake was having them pull the heads and have them evaluated etc...

the drives are not supposed to lock. In this case they move too freely. When only one side [ twin engines ] is engaged the wheel will rotate changing the position of the outdrive and thus change the desired direction of the boat. Thanks for the feedback as I really did not make the problem...

My steering works too well. Wheel will move when outdrive is in reverse. Causes a problem getting back in my slip. Tied wheel down and was able to dock as normal. There is a small hole on the steering wheel hub. Could this be an adjustment. I need to make the steering a little tighter. Any...
