    340DA vs. 360DA

Perhaps I can speak from experience on this... We owned a 2003 320DA which we really enjoyed. We bought a 2005 360DA because we liked the separate stateroom door and the shower arrangement as you point out. We thought we would miss the U shaped cockpit but actually the face-to-face seating...

    GPS on 280

Mike: Of course I meant above the steering wheel. BTW I miss my 280. It was faster and it could be towed (barely). I like the 360 space but the fuel bill is crazy. joe

    GPS on 280

This is an old pic from my now traded 2001 280DA I got the dealer to replace the radio with a Raymarine 240 unit. We mounted the GPS below the steering wheel. It was great to use and the sight lines were not too bad. Joe

    C80 and Radar Overlay

New version of software If you have an autopilot you may also have a gyro compass. The latest upgrade of software is supoosed to allow the gyro compass to display on the unit just as the KVH electronic compass will. Go onto the Raymarine site and it should give you more detail. Joe

We are thinking about going from Kingston, Ontario to Ottawa via the Rideau River and Rideau Canal system. I am hearing a variety of stories about making the trip. I would like to hear from anyone who has done the trip. Joe

    Hello from Canada

Peter: The Clarion amp is behind the electrical panel on the 360. It is actually behind the lower panel which is the 12v area. Watch out when working behind there as there are a lot of open buses. A misplaced screw driver can make a spark! Joe

    Hello from Canada

Steve36: Sorry fior the delay in getting back to you. I have done most of the work myself. I worked with Scanstrut to design the radar/sat mount as they did not make one at the time. The E80 swap was easy as was the bar TV. I did contract out the installation of the DSS because of the...

    Hello from Canada

Thanks for your kind words Steve, The upgrades are very easy to do but you need to plan the job and be patient: 1) The wireless autopilot was a gift. I am not sure that I would spend that kind of money otherwise. It works really well and its kind of good to have if you are letting an...

Why don’t they build AIS into DSC VHF marine radios?

Raymarine has a module that you can add to a E series that has AIS and will show details on the screen. Its too much $$$ for me...

    Hello from Canada

Thanks for your message. I am jealous of the Yanmars. We get a fair bit of long period waves (swells) on Lake Ontario so I know that I could use the torque. Here is a picture of the interior

    Multifuctional display and Radar

It depends on what you want to achieve. It appears from the Sea Ray brochure that there is a flat space that you could mount a display. When you say multi-fuction, do you want: 1) GPS and Map 2) Radar 3) Fishfinder 4) Depth sounder and fishfinder. All but the radar can be...

Swapping boats for a week or so...

I have read ads in US and UK newspapers about swapping vaction houses for a week. I would if people would do it with similar boats...? For example, I would love to spend some time on a lake in the USA that maybe I couldn't get to very easily. Vice versa, someone might want to go North and...

    Satellite Radio on Sundancer

You can't convert optical cable to RCA without processing the digital signal into analog. BTW, Sea Ray does make a switch plate that control turns on or off the cabin audio from the cockpit audio. This might be an option for you. You might check the parts manuals on the Sea Ray website.
