The name for my boat was chosen long before the boat itself......Princess M. Anyone who knows my wife even a little bit has no question about the name.
However, I think my brother in law actually has the coolest name for his boat. He lives in MA and his boat is from a builder in Nova Scotia...
Welcome and good luck on the boat search. You might plow through a lot of the posts in the Sport Cruisers section, which will give you lots of information.
Most things about a boat involve trade offs. My wife and I settled on a 240 DA because of the redesigned cockpit. We have absolutely loved...
Looks like such a great time! I can't tell what boat you have.....a 270 DA? what about the other boats in the group; all SRs or a mixed group? Who set the itinerary? or did you decide as you went along?
Five weeks in some of the most beautiful cruising ground in the world....what luxury! Did...
Wife and I got ours even before we got the boat and really wish that others had done the same! There are just so many idiots out there sometimes.
The one thing I need to check on is whether WA/OR have a reciprocity agreement or if I need to get one in each state?
Pretty sure I heard marqbarq say he would cover it for everyone in the PNW....
but in case I heard wrong, this site is still a huge bargain to me at whatever membership fee. It is too bad that SR corporate won't help out since this site does more than most dealerships to keep owners...
craigtay,
I also tow my '06 240 DA with a Dakota and heavy towing package, boat on an Easy Loader with surge breaks. I tow into the Cascades of Oregon and find that the truck has plenty of guts but you definitely need to put your foot into it on the steep. A stop at Les Schwab is always in...
Jeez I feel like an old timer.....
I do have to say WELCOME! This is my second season with both the boat and the board and I find the advice, general knowledge and helpfulness of the "old hands" here just incredible. They have increased my enjoyment of the boat exponentially.
Have fun...

Let's do a quick Cruise 45 mins- 1 HR to Lopez Island. I think a short run will get everyone into the spirit of the San Juan Islands and enough time in the evening to get to know one another and relax - Lopez Islander
Saturday July 19th
I think we should run up to what I...
We'll be sorry to miss you on the lake next year! But I can certainly understand the desire to have a larger boat (like yours) in the islands.
Hope to at least see you at this event.
Wow, that's a tough post to follow, but here goes.....
My boat is named after my wife; the Princess M (for Muriel) and while she has always been very comfortable that others recognise her royal status, I couldn't really see being the Princess guy or similar.
We live in Eugene, Oregon - home of...
As I mentioned to someone in our marina a week or so ago, I am able to check in here only about once or twice a week right now, but really look forward to being able to do so. I guess I feel a little guilty about missing a discussion and have just a couple of things that I think ought to be...
I have an '06 240DA with a 300 hp merc kept in fresh water. It is plenty of hp to be able to tow wakeboarders, etc. We love everything about the boat except for the tight access to the midberth.
For an all around family boat I would whole-heartedly recommend it. Good power, reasonable economy...
Mark,
Count me in to help with that! As we discussed, I think the missed opportunities were just too numerous. There is a great park and music venue where an evening barbecue could draw owners and potential owners for just a ton of fun.
Having said that, this was our first event and we just...
Welcome!
It is great to start seeing some more boats in the PNW. If you are up to trailering your boat this far, Aquapalooza will be on Detroit Lake July 20, 21, 22 and it's not too late to register. They are expecting about 40 boats so far. It should be fun.
Again, welcome and I hope you have...
Not that you really need another two cents worth, but....
I have two 60 pound dogs and love the two handles on the Paws
Aboard PFDs...it makes pulling them back up on to the swim platform so much easier.
Wow, thank God for living in a small state....both Gordon Smith and Ron Wyden are quite accessible and willing to listen about issues like this. (Makes Ron crazy :smt013 )
I'll definately send along comments to both, as well as our other representatives.
BTW, Oregon recently was victimized by...
