    Official 510 DA Owners Group

Just sold of my 2001 510DA. And I mean just sipped up the flat this afternoon for the last time. New owners plan it to truck the boat from Florida to Connecticut. Why move a boat like this to the land of limited summer weather is beyond me. And if that was the goal then I’ld float the boat...

    Sold my 2012 390 today

Sold the Linda Jean today as well. This sucks. She was an ok vessel when got here; now she’s about as ship shape as an vessel on the water. Hated letting her go but time and events conspired make selling her the best thing to do. Still sucks.

    Official 510 DA Owners Group

Not sure. The Linda Jean is just to much boat for what we do and what I can handle solo. It's best she go to folks that will get more use of her. Broker I bought the boat through as well as the surveyors know this boat from three years back; nothing but thumbs up on her condition. A far cry from...

Survey is complete. Linda Jean performed like the lady she is. The saying about the two happiest days of a boat owners life is simply not true.

I did the inverter thing when I replaced the frig on my 40da. Refrigerator really chews up battery storage. Found it better to just manage refrigerator efficiency and generator service.

    Gauge replacement

I replace my rpm guages. Considered replacing the 4 in 1 guages but got them up and running before pulling the trigger on that diy. Main thing is will your shinny new guages need sending units, also figure out how you'll route the wires. Next find you some one that can do it in about 5 hours...

    Stuck oil filter, best wrench

Of all the post I like the one suggesting it might lead to having blood in the bilge Hell; for me that’s pretty much the norm

    Stuck oil filter, best wrench

Poke a hole in the bottom and drain the oil in to what ever. Then grad a chisel, screw driver, what ever and start edging the rim till the filter spins free. There have been a few times when whole canister had to be removed and down to the securing ring. That was due to some over intergetic boat...

    Vetus Thruster Drip.

So what happened? Reason I ask is I have a Vetus that is a straight pass through for gear oil. Pretty much nothing in the boat; just a bit, not much, so I'm Thinking oil is passsimg down the foot and out through the prop shaft seal.

    No A/C Discharge Water

I use muriatic acid to clean my systems at least twice a year. Use a nifty delivery system I rigged up. Pour the acid in the container; hook a hose to the in pipe and the other end to the previously mentioned washout fixture. Run the diluted solution in; let it sit for a few minutes then rinse...

    No A/C Discharge Water

Get some pvc goodies and set you up a back flush system. Not expensive but saves you plenty in bucks and agrivation when the ac shuts down.
