My swim platform seems to get a green stain every year. I have used soft scrub and acetone but it still has a green stain from the water. Can I use muriatic acid on the platform without damaging it? I have never used the stuff so just being careful. Thanks Jabs

Previous owner has some sort of hard goo on the railings I have been trying to get off with goo gone with little affect. It's also on the shore power cord. Wondering if the acetone will affect the metal rail or if some one has a better I idea?
