Did you replace the rotor / cap and the plug wires, and did the performance change at all. Mine are still origional I think... mine is a '99 180 with the 3lt. I am not sure it is 100% but my mechanic assures me all is good with the engine tune etc. if these make a difference I will replace mine...

I installed a self bailing non return plug into the motor side of the drain. It allows the water to drain easily but stops the bilge water from entering. Proved itself when the power steering pump sprung a leak. Cheers

Mine crunches like a coffee grinder, then clunks into gear, especialy if I am slow. The quicker I get it into gear the better. I also find it is slightly worse with the Hi5 than the ali prop, probably due the the increased weight. It is worse than my previous 200 merc outboard though. Cheers
