12 volt receptacle not working part 2

Dennis, The one at the helm does work and comes from the bus bar under the helm but no sign of the mysterious wire #590. Also, the 12 volt receptacle in cabin is 10ga wire (#590) and the helm is more like 12-14 ga. Russ

12 volt receptacle not working part 2

Bahamabreisus, that's exactly what I did but I don't like having a "hot" wire somewhere in my wiring harness not producing as it should. Also, it is supposed to be coming from the same source my trim tabs come from. Lazy Daxe, thanks for the reply and all the help you offer to the folks on...

12 volt receptacle not working part 2

I didn't want to hijack the other thread so I made a part 2. I also have a issue with a 12 receptacle not working. It's in a 2000 290 DA. I have 2 receptacles, one at the helm and one under the stereo in cabin. The cabin is the one that isn't working. It's labeled 590 and I've traced the wire...

    Mercruiser 5.7L charging question

Is your boat moored or on a trailer? If it's moored, is there any possibility the bilge pump is kicking on and drainig the battery?

    Made an offer on a 1999 290 twin 4.3 merc - feedback?

It's a great boat covedog. I have a 2000 w/ the 5.7 and Bravo 3's and the boat has more than enough power. I would think the 4.3's w/ alfas would be good also. Does your boat have a generator? The generator and AC/heater is a nice option. I can't think of anything particular to watch out for...

    Anybody have one of these.......

In 2006 I purchased Lowrances top of the line depth/fish finder and a GPS. Both had issues and depth/fish finder had to be replaced. Now I know all things electronic or mechanical can have problems, but the depth/fish finder was only 2 months old. Now what really got me was the customer service...

    Largiest practical towable boat

Bob and Sue, Where did you get that information? I'm trying to figure out how I could be charged with or cited for an accident if someone else is at fault or how I could be held financially liable. Another thing that has me scratching my head is when liability is split commonly in court...

    Kohler 5E generator issue

So yesterday my genny sucked up some seaweed. I heard the sound change in the exhaust and shut it down right away. After cleaning the stainer I went to restart it and it will only run for 2 or 2 seconds. I have good water flow, impellar is fine. Oil level is full. WTF. I think maybe one of the...

    My 1st Sea Ray

Nice boat. That is a classic and one of the best hulls they ever made. That thing will ride great in lumpy water.

    Raytheon 210 mic info needed

Steve, Is that the original radio that came with your boat? If it is I have the whole radio you can have for whatever it cost's to ship it to you as it's been sitting in a drawer for the past 2 years. Nothing wrong with it, works fine, I just wanted DSC. Russ.

Using Lowrance LMF 400. Have not switched sensors but have recalibrated them. Guess I'll switch em and see what happens. Russ.

Port and Starboard Engine fuel consumption different

No visible difference in plugs, both engines appear to be running great. 2 years of running with no change in flow rates. Both have been tuned, new plug wires, plugs, caps, rotors, oil, filter, fuel/H20 filter, drive gear lube, props look great, drives trimmed the same. As for generator, yes I...

Port and Starboard Engine fuel consumption different

I know that the Port or Starboard engine will consume different amounts of fuel but I'm wondering if mine are more than acceptable. On plane at 3,300 rpms with medium load I'm doing 24 knots and using 8 gpm on Port engine and 11 gpm on Starboard. No noticable issues w/ anything, recent tune up...

    Weaver Lever

What Pietro said. It helps support the weight with a outboard on the dingy. You use it instead of a rear glue on pad for the davits. Russ.

    Engine Davit

I relied to your earlier post about the weaver leaver system and the fact that I really like it. I have a 15hp Merc hanging on mine without issue. My 15hp is a 2 stroke though and the Merc 8hp, 9.9hp and 15hp are all built on the same platform and all weigh the same. That's why I went with the...
