CJ,
I like that the Marinco 10108 air horn you used has a small footprint only 9 1/2"'s long and a single mount rather than two places to bolt down as with with longer trumpets. I see that the unit is chrome covered brass, I haven't had much luck with chrome in salt water environments.
I...
CJ,
I think there must be more room inside a 320 arch then a 260's to mount a compressor inside. What was the model AFI horn you used?
I picked up a hand held air horn to get by with for now.
Steve,
Hornblower needs a new horn
My duck horn barely quacked last time I went out. I opened the anchor locker and reseated the spade connectors a couple of times and I was able to get a little more sound out of them; but it's more than an electric issue, even when the horn was working at its...
tbirdvet,
Thanks for the info and good timing. I just saw that my spotlight lens was cracked yesterday and water had entered the bulb too.
I just ordered, with shipping saved approx $5 over BoatersIsland Discount Marine; that's a gallon of gas :smt001.
We're thinking about doing an overnighter on the boat this weekend. Anyone else have to pop ibuprofen before, during and after sleeping in the V berth?
I want to lay down a memory foam topper to ease the aches and pains; I've read reviews online and it seems that even a 1.5" thick topper...
I had my boat in the water for a couple of weeks in early April, was great to get an early start. I normally keep my boat on the rack, but was borrowing a friend's slip who's not in the water yet. Anyway, one of my mechanics notice some activity from my sacrificial anodes. When I took a look...
In NYS you pay about 66 cents in taxes for every gallon of gasoline you purchase.
Exxon makes about a 2 cent profit on a gallon.
So who's making the windfall profits?

When's the last time you got a job from a poor person?
Let the wealthy and businesses (aka employers) keep more of what they earn and let them spend it. I know the government needs to buy $400 hammers and spend millions on studying how much cows fart, but they'll just have to learn to tighten...
Ah ha, so you're rich! I hope you're paying your fair share. I think you need a tax increase. We need to spread the wealth around or haven't you heard. Maybe you can share your fleet with the less "privileged".
Your opinions are welcome, I just hope you can back them up?
D-Sill-D,
Intellectually I think FWC is the way to go, If you asked me a month or so ago I would’ve told you I was sorry that I did the conversion. Now that everything is working fine I’m happy that at least the block is FWC. If you're interested in my saga you can read about it here...
Annie, yes that was a good suggestion. But it would've been nice to have made it work as a full system.
I’ve been talking to Monitor Products to understand exactly why the system runs so cool after moving the exhaust manifold and riser block off of the freshwater side. My Monitor Products...
Hairdryer and denatured alcohol to remove adhesive.
I've used alcohol to disolve adhesive after removing vinyl lettering and found it much faster and neater to use than WD-40. I bet cheap tequila would work too .
I’m going to experiment with lowering the bow and using the tabs when it gets choppy. I was cruising on the Great South Bay on Saturday running 4,000 RPM/30MPH, as we headed west the chop got noticeably worse and the “Admiral” complained so I pulled back to 3600 and it got much better. Would’ve...
Looks like your propped and powered the same as me. 3,500 is my minimum for staying on an acceptable plane too, but the bow does rise a little bit. I suppose I could use the tabs to correct but I figure rather then add that additional drag I just bump it up to 3,600 instead.
For what its worth...
Good point and great anecdote.
I too would like to thank all those who have responded to my posts.
The CSR community is a incredible resource and wealth of knowledge and experience; I feel privileged to be part of it.
BTW, I do find the Google search of CSR it the best way to find...
Thanks Fellas.
66Pony, I'll collect pressure data and post it next time I take the boat out.
I spoke to James from Monitor Products on Friday, they don't have an explanation as to why exchanger is not working as a full FWC system (exhaust and block). He told me to call again on Monday...
