I have an old Impulse 2831 loran/fishfinder/depthfinder. The antenna is 8ft. long, looks like 3/8 male . It is shedding fiberglass splinters. Is there any way to repair this. If not, are any replacements on the market?

I am new here, just bought a 1988 sea ray 268 sun downer 7.4 , Current stove is electric. no generator so no cooking unless docked with external power. Thinking of changing to either a combo; alcohol /electric or straight alcohol. Looking for advise on subject.....thanks..:thumbsup:
