Update. Thanks for the input. I got them both started. While troubleshooting, I decided to clean everything up, including the battery terminals. And then charged all night. Guess what, they both started. Ugh...sometimes it is the simple stuff.
Now I have another problem, the port engine is...
Yesterday I thoroughly checked the batteries, to see if something has become disconnected. All was fine. Took the opportunity to clean up everything and treat all of the poles with CorrisionX.
I don't seem to have the blade fuses behind he distributor and I don't see a 50 amp on top of the...
Thanks for pointing out the link. I was able to download it.
It is a 2001 Sundancer.
There is a breaker for the ignition. One of the breakers I replaced. I believe it is the same breaker that powers the starter (from memory). Maybe there was another lead on it that I didn't reconnect, but...
Thanks. So power is a separate circuit for the ECM? I tried going to this site, but I can't figure out which one is the wiring diagram, there are many, many links...I tried one and it took me down a rabbit hole. Might not help anyway as I am not great at reading schematics.
Do you know if there...
Hi all,
I have a 280 Sundancer.
Both engines have the same problem. They crank fine, and getting fuel - but no spark.
Is there a separate circuit for the coil? Different than the starting circuit?
I recently replaced some breakers and pulled all of the batteries, could I have left a wire or...
I have an update. I disconnected the hydraulic lines to the tilt/trim ram...no oil came out, I was surprised.
Next. Used a scissor jack to push down, using the swim step. It moved a few inches. So...
I decided to re-hook up the hydraulic lines. And try moving down again. IT WORKED.
But...the...
This is not a selonoid issue, I am by-passing that by jumping the pump.
While jumping, I used the wrong wire. There is green and blue. I jumped the green wire my mistake, which drove the drive to its end of travel going up. Dumb mistake.
The pump still runs, but the drive won't go down, when...
Your problem sounds different than mine, but checking the screen is easy, quick and cheap. Mine had some kind of particles completely covering it. They were easily removed. It was suggested to use carb cleaner, but I didn't even need to do that. My symptoms were repeatable, idle and up to...
This is from a 2001 280 Sundancer. Purchased just over a year ago. S/N 000227. SEA RAY PART # 1810626. OEM SEA RAY ELECTRICAL SWITCH PAD STARBOARD MODULE.
My switchpad was going haywire, like many have reported. It was a guess whether it was the EIM or the switchpad. I guessed switchpad, and...
Was it hard to disassemble the shifter assembly? This is there the thottle levers are, right? By memory, seems like I tried before and there was just a cover, but couldn't get to anything.
Have you done anything with the shifter cables?
Thanks for the reply.
My shifter have never operated smoothly. And the tilt switches will sometimes not work.
I think I just want to replace the entire assembly, from the control box to the engines...I assume the tilt will just be simple wires.
Any advice as I plan on this project. And where to get parts?
Thanks...
Problem solved. The screen was the issue.
I was ready to order a new low pressure pump. Then one of the mechanics that I use suggested checking the screen on the input side of the pump.
Sure enought was a lot of particles. Cleaned it out and it worked fine.
Thanks for the input.
Thanks. I found one on https://www.fuelpumpfactory.com for $250. I was ready to order it and then someone suggested I check the screen on the input side. I did and it was not even visible, so many particles had accumulated.
So I cleaned out and plan to test today. And I did not order the pump.
Thanks guys. The engine is throttle body fuel injection, so standard intake manifold but fuel is injected. 2001 280 Sundancer.
I don't know what CF2 is? If I do, that rules out being a bad low-pressure fuel pump? and paint chips?.
Yes, a fuel pressure test would be good, but I don't have the...
