My gen keeps shutting down about two hours after I start it. It starts running rough and spews white smoke that smells gassy. Doesn't matter if I'm cruising or sitting in a calm cove. Oil is full and radiator is full. My mechanic says it may be vapor locking (I've had the boat for 4 week)...
I tried to raise the engine hatch this weekend and it wouldn't go up. I can hear the motor trying to lift it but it just doesn't budge. Acts like it's locked or something.
Any ideas? Is there anyway to manually lift the hatch?
It's a 2000 340 Sundancer.
Thanks
The wife and I were crusing out of our cove a week ago Sunday and noticed a 370 Dancer with a brokerage sign on the bow. We had always admired this boat every time we went out on the lake. We contacted the broker, negotiated back and forth all week and setteled on a price. Survey and haul out...
My offer on a 370 Sundancer was accepted today. She'll go through all the proper inspections and sea trials before the purchase but she has been re powered. The engines were replaced with 385 HP fuel injected crusaders. The transmissions and props have also been replaced. Since these are...
Neither my stupid maintenance manual, owners manual or engine package manual give the crank case oil capacity. :smt013
I have a 2000 340 Dancer with the 380 HP Horizon engines.
My maintenance manual says to use 25-40 oil but doesn't say what kind, synthetic blend or full synthetic. What is...
I drove a 450 Sundancer over the weekend. She had the 3116 Cats. At 2800 we were doing about 22kts. Does this sound about right? Is there a big difference with the 3126 Cats. I'm not familiar with big boats like this but it didn't really seem like she was on plane. Nose was a bit high...
My boat is very slow to manuver and pivot in tight docking conditions, especially if it's windy. Due to a medical condition using the throttles to gain thrust isn't a very good option. I was wondering if replacing the three blade props with four blades would give me additional thrust in slow...
I've only owned this boat for about two months. The eisenglass is like brand new and has never been installed. I wrestled with it for about four hours yesterday but was unable to get everything attached. I searched the forums and see that armorall on the rubber hooks is a good idea. I see...
The cooling unit went out on my Norcold fridge. Mechanic says the parts are so expensive it's better to buy a new one. Does anyone know a good place to get one online?
