Pros and cons of leaving boat full time in river water

My wife and I at long last are purchasing some local river front property which has a boat house. The slips unfortunately are pretty narrow with the widest (the one on the left in the picture) being right at 9 feet while my 2000 Sea Ray 190 signature is 8 feet 5 inches wide. There is therefore...

Looking for good service in the Mobile, AL area

I'd prefer not to have to tow to the MarineMax in Gulf Shores but I've done that before. I have an electrical issue and I've reached the end of my diagnostic abilities. Where do SeaRay owners in the Mobile, AL area get their work done?

    Anyone Using Boat US Insurance??

I used Progressive for the first 3 years I insured my boat but when they kept raising my rate each year despite me filling no claims I switched to Boat US and have been with them 2 years and I'm about to renew with them for my third. I haven't had any claims but I did run over a crab trap...

    Spotlight recommendations for night cruising

I've had this Coleman a couple of years and really like it. It can run while charging on AC or DC. http://www.amazon.com/Coleman-4351-700-LED-Rechargeable-Spotlight/dp/B00GVLI8L0/ref=pd_sbs_sg_5?ie=UTF8&refRID=123G4D7R06JQ872VT635&tag=viglink21308-20# I only paid about $70 for mine on Amazon so...

    Spotlight recommendations for night cruising

I don't use it continuously while running but I really like this Coleman rechargeable LED spotlight I bought a couple of years ago. It will run for over 2 hours on battery but can be plugged into a dc socket and run continuously. Anytime I'm running at dusk or later I keep it close at hand...

Need Electronic Switch Pad for year 2000 190 Signature Bowrider

I took the boat to my closest MarineMax which is just over an hour away and they diagnosed the EIM as also being bad in addition to the fried switch pad. An EIM was ordered last week ($305) but hasn't arrived yet. Fingers are crossed that the new parts will fix things.

Question about voltage at switch panel

Oops, yes thanks for the correction, it is EIM pin 5 to S pin 6 with 12v+. I just got back from seeing the mechanic and he has tested all the circuits for shorts without success so I told him just to go ahead and hook everything back up including the new switch pad and see what happens as he...

Yes both the main feed wire carrying 12v and the wire on pin 1 which carries 5v have good voltage.

Question about voltage at switch panel

Sorry about the poor resolution, the wiring diagram can be seen on page 18 here better: http://www.searay.com/boat_graphics/electronic_brochure/Company1729/1C1_23_74DEJAK1R3A.pdf I am no expert in this sort of thing but it appears that EIM pin 1 connects to Switch pin 6 with 12v, EIM pin 24...

Need Electronic Switch Pad for year 2000 190 Signature Bowrider

No, the part 1142314 was $245 shipped by itself without the EIM. I think I was first quoted $279 + shipping but the lady I spoke to ultimately offered it to me for the $245 so I snatched up that "bargain".

Question about voltage at switch panel

My boat sat unused for 9 months with a dual bank trickle charger on the batteries. When I finally was able to crank it on dry land using a muffler the switch panel (see part 1142314 below) which runs the light, horn, etc would not respond. I took the boat to my local marine mechanic who said...

Need Electronic Switch Pad for year 2000 190 Signature Bowrider

Nevermind. I searched all over the internet including FP's website and came up with nada so I called Sea Ray and was told the 1142314 part is no longer made and none are in inventory but they had a replacement for a mere $245 shipped. Since the boat is a huge doorstop without this part I forked...

    Haven't started boat since May

I added Star Tron gas additive when I last filled up. I may take the boat to my local preferred mechanic and let him do the start-up prep. Thanks for the advice.
