Hey Michael, did you ever get this figured out? I am having a similar issue. Boat dies usually restarts, somethings no power to gages and no crank. Lost engine comms is the usually code. Dealer no help with code reader.
My sea temp and depth sounder both stopped working. Everything else seems fine. All smartcraft gages function normally, except for sea temp and depth. Just get -.- on the display. Any help would be awesome. Thanks!
Re: I got a virus the last two times I logged on here. Yes on the computer land line
Yep, getting a malware pop up. I shut off my pc before it could load. Also responding now from me phone.
I have/had the same issue. I use a bridle/towing harness attached to the rear two cleats. Works great for keeping the tow line high for both tubing and wakeboarding.
I had a similar issue, turns out it was low outdrive oil in the reservoir. When you get up on plane the alarm will usually stop until it gets very low. Make sure your levels are OK.
OK, a two part end to this story.
 YAY for Sea Ray of Cincinnati, they saved my weekend. Got the boat looked at today and the alarm and check engine were due to...............
........ Low outdrive oil in the Reservoir. As tbirdvet noted, seems the water PSI was normal.

ARGGG..... So, I take the boat to the Sea Ray dealer on Monday morning and they tell me, three boats in front of you, should be done by the end of the week. Now, it's the end of the week and they tell me "three boats in front of you, it will be next week" . So does complaining do any good or...
So, We have owned our 240SD for about a year now and had our first bad day. The SmartCraft alarm started going off (two-tone) and the display showed "Check Engine". The engine was running at idle, I cycled through the displays and when I got to the water PSI, I immediately noticed that it was...
That boat has twin engines and i am guessing that they are NOT V4's! I would have to think 10,000 lbs with the trailer. The SUV is rated for 6500 when it was new.
I just purchased one from Bass Pro Shops. You can find a 20% off coupon if you google Bass Pro Shop coupons. Shipping was $10 and they Fedex it. The platform itself, it very sturdy and folds almost flat for storage. Only danger is if it slips out of your hands before you strap it onto the...
I started using Sta-bil Ethanol treatment in my boat and the vapor lock issue went away. Ethanol has a lower boiling point then gas, so that is why it is happening more then in years past. More ethanol in the gas. Give it a try.
Good luck

I use the rear cleats and a tow harness that outboard style boats would use and it works great on my 240SD.
It is vapor lock, I had the same boat and engine. When you stop, you need to let the engine cool off a bit, leave the blower running for 5-10 minutes, open the engine cover. You can also keep a rag and pack some ice in it and put it on the fuel pump to cool it off. I started putting ethanol...

You can anchor 1/4 mile past the bridge on the Kentucky side of the river. It is directly across from Coney Island/Riverbend. Nice area, although the river is running a little high right now.
