im looking to purchase a new set of backup props for my 340, and wondering if anyone has tried a different pitch than what comes standard wuth the 8.1s? id give up acceleration in the hole shot for a faster cruise speed (not that the current config is bad) but a few more mph at standard...
pictures worth a thousand words....finally got down to the boat to take a pic...looks almost like rust, but not the same texture... just don't want to scratch the unit up trying to remove this stuff....
Side windows and rear used once or twice, has built in zipper screens, Sides and rear made by great lakes, top is made by sunbrella....color is tan. We used the camper top piece regularly, but the full camper enclosure (sides and rear) only once or twice, then stored indoors, so those pieces...
Microwave/integrated coffee maker on a 2008 340?
This unit was used by sea ray on many late model boats. It appears to be stainless steel, but who knows what it is really made out of, and is operated with a touch screen pad. The outside was perfectly clean when i dropped the boat off for...
Inspected thrusters from the inside of boat and the coupling is, unfortunately, working properly. Everything is in order from inside the boat....which means it needs to be hauled...great.... Now i'm debating whether to do this at the end of the season when she comes ou for the winter or do it...
So this doesn't sound good to me...went to use my thrusters the other day and it revved like crazy without the boat moving. It's as if the prop came off, or spun loose.
Has this ever happened to anyone else and if so, does the boat have to be hauled out to fix?
Thanks guys!
Thanks guys.
The breaker was fine... The control box, not so much...It's fried, which is why it no longer goes down...
As for the rope feeding into the locker properly, well I'm going to try fabric softner. We boat in salt water, so I'm hoping it's just that the rope is too stiff...
I was having a similar problem with my windlass. It would go up, but not down. When I would try to drop the anchor all I would get is a clicking sound from the anchor locker, and the windlass wouldn't move.
Turns out the control box on the windlass was bad, which is being replaced now...
Redlined,
I was doing the same thing, (and I also have a 2008) until my windlass stopped working all together when trying to lower the anchor... I'm wondering if I burnt something out by constantly turning it off and on every few seconds in order to prevent the rode from coiling on the deck...
Wow! I thought this problem was unique to me, guess I was wrong....
I've let MM know about this more than once now, and (so far) they've just shrugged their shoulders and said there wasn't much they could do. I'm not letting this go, though, as it's a safety issue for me since my wife and...
Thanks very much fireisland,
I've tried all of your suggestions except fabric softener....I'll give that a shot...searay did mill the opening in the deck where the anchor line feeds through about an 1/8th of an inch smaller than the opening in the actual windlass unit....
I'm wondering if I...
My 2008 340 sdancer anchor line (rope or chain doesn't matter) coils on the deck instead of feeding into the anchor locker when pulling the anchor up.
Anyone else have this problem and if so, how did you fix it? I've talked with MM, as boat is still covered but they haven't addressed the...
Is there supposed to be a handle of some sort to mount the hand held shower head in the bathroom? I don't have one and I'm wondering if mine is missing or the boat never came with it...
Also, my central vaccine won't turn on, is there a switch somewhere. I called MM and they said it's...
Tough decision....I think in the long run newer is better, but a larger beam will definitely feel more stable. I went from a 290 to a 340 recently and we wished we had done it years ago!!!! (granted we moved up 2 sizes, you can't even compare the rides...) The four year gap between the two...
