Replaced a starter solenoid on one of my 5.0mpis due to an intermittent no start condition. It seems to have fixed my tachometer on that side also.

You're right. Not dry joint. Everything i read states they started dry joint in 02 which is what year mine is.
For those of you with 2002 5.0mpis, are the manifolds and risers dry joint?
You have problems if you have that much oil in your bilge.
