We'll be at the town wharf in Bristol for the weekend. Talk about a town that knows how to celebrate the 4th... Bristol has been having a 4th of July celebration week longer than anywhere in the US. We'll be on the harbormaster's transient dock this weekend. Looking forward to the "Changes in Latitudes" concert at Independence Park on Sunday night. Best Jimmy Buffett tribute band in the country. If any of our Club Sea Ray friends are in town for the weekend, come over for an authentic Jost Van Dyke Painkiller on Beginnings. (Pussers British daily ration rum of course.)

Cheers, Ron & Pam

We were there too! Got there on Monday and came back yesterday. Can you make reservations at the town dock? We were on a mooring. Man was it sticky out there.

We were at the town dock, the face dock is for transients, We reserved it through Dockwa. It's not really a slip, but it is a floating dock. It was sticky, so we were happy to be plugged in with the A/C running all weekend for a break from the heat. The conditions were so calm it wasn't a problem last weekend, but sometimes with the prevailing SW wind, you get rocking on that face dock. You want to be on the left end, 1st or 2nd transient spot. You don't want to be in the third spot, because that end, on the right, is the public pump out, and boats are in and out of there all day. Some have questionable docking skills, and the guy that was in that third spot was concerned a few times as the local Rodney Dangerfield's came in to pump out and kept coming too close to his bow, requiring fending off at the last minute a couple times.

All in all though, Bristol really knows how to do the 4th of July! Great music every night at Independence Park. Also, having 4 days in a row of seas 1 ft or less in RI sound and Buzzards Bay was pretty unique! Beautiful for power boats. Great ride up through Newport coming over, and then we came down the other side of Aquidneck Island on the way home via the Sakonnet River. Pretty rides.
