8.1's
I was wondering if someone else has seen this problem and has a solution.

I have a pair of 8.1's on my 2004 390 MY. When I first start up the engines they idle about 650 RPM on both engines. However, after I have been on the lake and running about 3500 RPM and return to the marina, the Port engine does not go back to idle RPM and is about 150 RPM higher. So when I am docking the starboard engine is 650 and the port engine is 800ish and sometimes up to 900RPM.

Has anyone else seen this?

I am wondering if its a choke issue or something.
Any idea?

I would start by checking the idle air control mufflers located in the throttle body. They are small white foam plugs that will turn black and clog up. Cheap to replace.

Make sure your throttle cable is shutting down completely. Vacuum leak will do that

I had the same problem last Friday. I turned off both engines, restart and both were back to 650 RPM. Never happened before. Please keep us post if you find the cause of this problem.
