40 sedan bridge forum

I just ran into this about 2 weeks ago... Soaked everything in my under galley storage. There is a condensate pan under your AC unit with a drain that runs to your engine room forward bilge. If that drain is clogged, then your catch pan is likely filled up and overflowing running into your galley bilge/storage. Pull the stairs out, and it will be very clear if this is the case. Run a drain snake down the drain tube, and you should be good to go. While in there, pull the filter screen out of the side of your a/c unit, and hose it out too.

My salon AC drains into the shower sump and water does not collect in the condensation pan.

What is the procedure to remove the stairs?
I’d like to clean out my drain on my salon AC as well.
Four screws. Two on the top outsides, and two on the bottom outsides of the bottom riser. They are buried in the carpet so you will just have to poke around until you find them.

There are phillips head screws in the top near the joint with the salon floor that screw into a wood cleat below, and two more that screw into a cleat on the bottom riser below the vent area. Just have to feel around for them in the carpet. The stairs pull straight out after that. There will be a wire with some slack in it that connects to the stair light. Also a good time to upgrade that stair light to a couple of 12" 12 volt LED strips to tuck under the stair nosing that can be picked up at any autoparts store....:)

Your drain should go to the shower sump. If you haven't cleaned the shower sump recently, take the cover off and clean and vac with a shop vac. Then take the shop vac and place over the outlet for the salon ac and suck out the line. This way you don't have to run a wire and the shop vac will clean out everything in the line.

One of my guests broke the freezer handle last weekend. Anyone replace their refrigerator and still have the old one? Would love to buy the freezer door from you.

Replaced the rollers under the sliding door today.

First, the p/n Patio Door Roller 9-238 and purchased through windowanddoorparts.us

https://windowanddoorparts.us/advan...n=1&osCsid=7e8ggh6nnbg77gjpt38fsils67&x=0&y=0

$7.30 each and are a perfect replacement.

Here is a video to show how to replace the rollers:

Door works beautiful now, and it appears the old rollers were original. Overall the job took less than an hour to do.
That's very helpful. Thanks for figuring this out for the rest of us. I also have a lumpy track the first couple feet from the closing edge. So I gotta figure out how to smooth that as well.

Depending on the severity, use a file and work slowly.

I had the same thing happen... assuming you have the original Norcold (aka NeverCold) - I think it’s the DE461 from memory - you can get all the replacement parts very inexpensively from the Norcold Guy (www.thenorcoldguy.com)... very easy repair... 4 screws top and bottom and the whole assembly (simply) slides out... if you need to remove the refrigerator at all, see my earlier post as I upgraded the refrigerator doors and microwave this past winter... good luck!

Has anyone installed a deck scupper drain on the port side of the cockpit. I always get a pool of water there and would like to end that.

The drain line coming off the cockpit hatch runs directly underneath, I figure I could just put a T in that line and use it to drain the port side.

Well the political neophyte and nepotism beneficiary Justin Trudeau installed one on the left after imposing steel tariffs on China. The Canadian constituency, while trying to maintain their sense of propriety and decorum, said nothing, while all the while denigrating President Trump. But I could be wrong.

I'm going to order a new screen/blackout shade for the stateroom. I took it down for a part number. I have a SS-20/20-R1-B-SLR from Oceanaire.

Are you looking to add a third drain to the cockpit, in addition to the two big drains that are in each aft corner?

My cockpit has a large drain on the starboard side of the cockpit, that's it.

Maybe the port drain was an option? I looked at several other 400SB's and they only had one drain as well.

I've never seen that. I flood mine every week to wash it. Thought all of them had two scuppers.'

That looks really nice. Great job!

I took possession of my 480 yesterday. I am selling my 400 and want to tell everybody before I list it with a broker. I have had in on Boat Trader for three weeks and had one call. I have had a lot of brokers contact me though......go figure. Anyway, PM if you want the details. I will say it is the nicest one around and I hate parting with her.
