410 Sundancer/Express Cruiser and 400 Sundancer/Express Cruiser **Official Thread**

I think mine blows away from the door. Maybe your’s is installed backwards. I will take a look this weekend.
Thanks! That thing is up there solid. If I decide to turn it around I’m going to probably have to figure out how to drop the whole panel.

Mine blows out away from the door, but doesn’t seem like one way or the other would matter much?

Yes, I still have it. It is beige

I still have it and it is beige.

Sweet, beige works for me. How about a price for shipping to 94509?

If it blew toward the door I wouldn't think it would cool the aft stateroom as effectively.

Mine only blows out at about 15 deg so its still mostly down into the foot well in front of the head. Airflow back there is an issue and I have fans on board to help out. If I could get the grill out easily, I might spin it 180 deg, but if not, I'd leave it and add a fan.

But I think the answer is most boats have the grill pointed out.

Thanks! I’ll have to add pulling the panel with the MFD’s at the helm to my “to do list” to see if I can see how they have that vent or ceiling panel secured and see if I can flip it around.
Took another hard look at it and there is no sign that the vent has ever been down so there’s a good chance that it was installed that way back in 2002 when the boat was built.

All, I have diesels and would like to replace the deck fill caps. The ones I have look right but they don't screw down flush like my waste and water fills. I think the caps have been replaced with the wrong ones. If the threads are screwed up how would you go about replacing the whole assembly? Does anyone know the OEM part info? Thank you, as always. Dan

Ha! that makes sense, I'm hoping it isn't a pita to find the caps. Anyone know what part number or manufacturer for the caps? Sad part is I am just now getting to replacing them too. Thanks Carter!

I just went through this on my '98 400. The Sea Ray parts manual shows this as 0291682 Deck Plate Gas SS. I picked up replacements at west marine and have them same issue - they don't screw down flush.

QUOTE="JVM225, post: 994918, member: 2991"] I want to figure out some kind of brush that I can use to get down in those holes in the aftercooler to clean the surface just under the threaded part, right where the top part of the anode gets stuck to the aftercooler.
My first thought is a stiff nylon gun barrel brush, or something similar that would be stiff enough to clean the anode gunk off and not come apart, but not so stiff that it damages the threads the caps screw in to.
I wonder if anyone else has done this.......

I use a plumbers fitting brush, I also paint the anode with nail polish on the area where it attaches itself to the aftercooler. It seems to help a little but the best plan seems to be to just change them about every other month (when in salt). I like your retrieval tool, like minds I guess.

The part number for the unit is 0126714 by a company called Marinium. My threads on my deck plates were corroded. I was unable to locate OEM parts so I had to go with replacement. Hopefully, you can find caps because it is a major pita to replace the unit.

Thanks! I’m going to try the nail polish idea.

has anyone replaced the small original tv in the main salon on a 97 400 Sundancer? This is the one above the refrigerator just as to the left as you come down the stairs. Marina neighbor wants to replace and the only way I can see is to remove the refrigerator first. There is a little fabric ledge around the top that is just high enough to prevent the tv from sliding out. Plus, the tv appears to be screwed down to a plate holding it in place.
