I think the freezer on my 2006 380 Sundancer is on it’s way out . It won’t freeze ice cubes anymore ..... tried to check the metal plate inside for the model number and it’s all worn away . Anyone know which one it is and what model to replace it with ?
I’ve tried turning it off and defrosting it and that didn’t do the trick . Any other troubleshooting tricks before I take out my American Express card :(

From memory the freezer is a Waeco RPF50 which is no longer available. I believe the replacement is a Waeco CRX50.

Before ditching the existing freezer I found mine to have a defective power supply. The way to test is to run 12 volts directly to the module on the freezer thereby bypassing the power supply. If that is your problem the replacement power supply is a waeco coolpower mps 35.

Ok thanks so much. It sounds like it keeps turning on and off and when I turn the thermostat I don’t hear it clicking Like it does on the fridge

Yep sounds like what mine was doing - constantly cycling. Ran a 12 volt supply direct to the module and freezer started freezing again.

When I lookup a CRX50 a fridge shows up .... not a freezer

Key Features of new CRX range:
  • For models CRX50, CRX65, CRX80 freezer compartment can be removed, an the fridge run as a freezer only - Temperature range between -6 to -8°C (at 32°C ambient) for whole freezer operation

Got down to the boat , pulled the freezer out and disconnected it from the outlet. Tried running the freezer and you can hear the compressor try and kick on , the interior light goes from on to dim to off , compressor kicks off and you can hear the fan running . Is that a good sign the power supply is bad ?

@juggernaut1 Thanks so much for the info . Replaced the power supply and the freezer is up and running perfectly!
