Anyone been down this road yet? My fridge is about 5 years ago and like everyone else we have absolutely loved it. Went to the boat this weekend and freezer is thawed, ice melted and all the fridge items are hot. The light is on, you can hear it running. I have it powered off for now hoping a defrost might bring it back to life. Going to pull it out of the wall this coming weekend.

Ive started looking online, calling Vitrifrigo NA and Defender where I bought it but Im hitting road blocks everywhere. Im way out of warranty and all Im told is the Danfoss compressor equipped versions are bulletproof and it was likely user error. Yea, after 5 years of excellent service? Not buying it.

Hoping its something simple. I got this one because everyone raved about how reliable it was. Fingers crossed.

Was it running on AC or DC? When my house battery banks were going bad I came to the boat one day to find the same situation on my Vitrifrigo. The batteries weren't supplying enough power to keep it running cold. It ran great on shore power. Just a thought.

I don't recall ever seeing a thread about a dead Vitrifigo. ALWAYS a Norcold.

Do you know if you have the Sea Ray installed capacitor for your fridge? It would have been near the power leads before going into the Vitrifrigo. I ask because on my prior 380, I had the same systems with an almost new Vitrifrigo 2600. It was determined that it was the capacitor on the boat side, and nothing wrong with the fridge. My mechanic actually removed the capacitor saying that it was not necessary with Vitrifrigo, and the fridge worked fine after.

+1 on the Capacitor. Mine was bolted to the back of the Norcold and when I switched out the old Norcold I didn't use it with the Vitrifrigo.

Sorry for not replying I have been on vacation. Thank you all for the suggestions! While I actually dont own a SeaRay I will check the power source to see if something similar is happening and report back. Thanks again everyone

Never heard back from the OP. Mine has stopped working twice now. Came back to boat on shore power and the fridge is ambient temp. Led light comes on. Was running on shore power. Pissed because I bought this thing last year or so. Works great until about 6 weeks ago until it crapped out, turned off the power and back on, started up and ran great for last six weeks. Tonight, pulling stinky crap out of fridge again.

Most likely it's the controller board.

Agree with Alex. Controller board went on mine and had the same symptoms.

Had to buy it. As I recall it was over 400 installed.

Hi all. I have a similar problem with my fridge bot working. The techs initially said about 1 year ago that there was a Freon leak inside the but they could not fix because they could not open the back of the fridge as it was an "all-in-one" unit. They topped up the Freon and it lasted about 6 months. Last week they said that the Freon would not stay in and there are problems with other parts. In short they recommend that I buy a new one.
Has anyone or know of anyone ever opened the back of the Vitrifrigo 2600? I don't want to have to buy a new one if mine can be repaired at a reasonable cost.
Thanks,
Ken

Where was the box made? I remember several years ago when I bought mine for the 450 i was told they were made in two different locations and not to buy from one of them. I think it was Mexico and the other I'm not sure. I also would contact Annapolis Cruise Air that's where I picked up mine and to this day perfect!!!

Good luck,
Tommy
