Hey guys a friend of mine bought a boat in Pasadena Maryland, and asked me to help bring it up to New York. Trying to gain some local knowledge about the bays down there and also figure out how to get out into the ocean the fastest, safest way possible. Any help would be appreciated! Boat is a 35 tiara

Yep I agree. The Bay is easy to navigate. The channel QT referred to is called the Tolchester Channel I believe. Very well marked! Heavily traveled by ship traffic so be aware. There is plenty of water on either side of the channel. Follow it up through the Elk River into the canal and out into the Delaware Bay. Just pay attention to tide and wind in the Delaware a nice out going tide and Southerly wind will make for a sporty 50+ mi run. You might want to plan your stops around the weather and tide and Delaware Bay if you are not rushed. Summit North at the top of the Bay as is Chesapeake City Town Dock (closest to a restaurant) are on the canal or there are several marina's in Cape May. I think South Jersey and Ultsch (sp?) are walking distance to restaurants (Lobster House). Canyon Club is out of town. Watch out for the green heads in Jersey!!

Enjoy the trip!!

Head north up the bay following the channel along the eastern shore. The upper bay is very easy to navigate. Take the C&D canal into the Delaware Bay then down to Cape May. Cut thru Cape May to the Ocean.

What size and style of boat is it?
