270 Sundeck Thread - Questions & Answers

Glad to see this page breathing life. I have a 2005 Sea Ray Sundeck 270 and for the life of me I can not find the Fresh Water Pump. It is not located in the engine compartment. I contacted Sea Ray and they sent me a drawing that places it port side under sink in head but it is not there. Pump does not turn on at all so can't locate via noise and fuse and dash switch are working. Anyone have a clue where it is located?

Assuming Sea Ray is correct, it's most likely behind a false wall.

False wall under the sink. I think it’s 4 screws and everything is right there. I go in there every spring to clean the strainer. Take a towel.

Hoping my new to me 05 270 gets to my marina on Friday between the snow. I'd love to really crawl around it over the weekend and have an idea of all the things it will need before splashing. Looking to get in the water April 12 or 13th.

Pump is behind the wall in the bathroom vanity cabinet. It is a common Shur-Flo that can be found at RV parts stores.

Hello from Florida, over the winter I added a swim platform, a freeride tower and a new 383 stoker. List of honeydews, wire new polk cans, install 2 amp and 12' sub, install opt7 led strips, install lowrance hds 7 gen 3 and vhf. I was reading about making bow filler boards and having cushions made but I'm on the fence because I'm not sure they would get used. How often do you guys use them?

I have them on my 240 and I thinks its a nice feature.

It does get used. It does make a nice spot to lounge around, but gets in the way when anchoring. The kids can set it up and remove it when necessary, so its not too much of a hassle for me.

Bringing this thread back to life. Just bought my 2nd 270 SunDeck last week and checked it out in person today.
2005 with 496. Cant wait till the weather breaks and I can start cleaning her up and making a few minor tweaks.
New dash panel, steering wheel, paint the outdrive and a few other odds and ends. Then comes a really good bath with wash and wax. Hoping spring comes early!

Where did you source your new dash panels and steering wheel from?

Panels from searay-parts.com and the steering wheel is a Schmitt fantasy. I forget which company had the wheel. Next up will be the switches with the small blue light on the top from seaway-parts.com. Lastly, for now, will be the 3 new gauges from MarineMax. That one hurts, $1100 for the 3 gauges. I looked for all other options but the smart craft gauge with the 496 is nice. I want to stay as close to OEM as possible.

Haven't had the chance to crawl around the boat so I won't be surprised it there are a few other things. Hoping the stereo works OK, etc.

Might try and recaulk everything. It's looking pretty yucky (as the wife calls it) and could use to be redone.

Espos, I was thinking about the anchor and being a pain in the ass...Maybe a windlass in the making? BTW do you have any pictures of the lounge area

Storm delayed the delivery. The yard is a mess right now. Hoping to get the boat early next week and get a few 50 degree days so I can work on her.

Boat gets delivered Monday to the marina. Looking to splash April 12/13. Pretty sure all the mechanical stuff is taken care of and now I just need to concentrate on making it look pretty.

I rarely use the bow filler. I think the 4th of July is about the only time it’s used. Constant kid traffic running back and forth jumping off the sides and stern trying to outwit each other would lead to that thing being destroyed.

Mine have never been used. They just get in the way.

Here are some pics of the sub. Pretty easy-drill hole, drop it in. Pardon the filth. Spring cleaning is first on the list. Second pic also shows where I mounted the inverter/charger.

I guess this is a good hideaway spot as it is right close to the water fill port too and tank too.

I am having intermittent sprayer issues now too and want to clean the filter by the pump and the 4 hose aerators. With the step down into the head and not being able to turn around in there I guess I will have to rig up a trapeze and video camera system in the head to hang upside down while reaching only one hand inside the tiny vanity door to unscrew the panel to get to the pump and get the filter off.

For something that is a regular maintenance thing, could they actually make it any more difficult!?

Anybody have any other easier methods to offer! ....pay a kid?!
