Topcoat

My dock neighbor applied the Hydrosilex via the dry method. On a clean, dry surface, spray on, wipe off, buff with clean microfiber towel. If memory serves, he did wax his boat before splashing this year, so the wax wasn't in bad shape this early in the season. The boat looks really nice. It repels water like crazy.

With his permission, I sprayed the "trunk" on my stern. I had applied some wax a few weeks ago, by hand, but was already getting the "black streaks" from the canvas. We've had a ton of rain here lately. Anyway, I cleaned the trunk with Spray 9 to remove the black streaks, and undoubtedly the recently applied wax, prior to applying the Hydrosilex. It is very smooth. I couldn't really discern a shine difference between the trunk lid and the rest of the transom. No better, no worse. What I will be watching for is the presence of the black streaks, and whether or not they are easily removed, or better yet, just wiped away.

More to come.
