I have a 1998 290 sundancer. It sat for 7 years on land before i got it. Been in the water for 2 weeks now and have run the ac a couple of times. Have a slight smell of something in cabin. Kinda like fumes or exhaust but the motors have not run all day. Is their a filter i am missing on the ac that needs a changing. Def not a gas keak

Well there is an air return under the steps. The grill simply removes and mine has a filter that I clean every so often. If you don't have a filter I bet the condenser is a bit dirty and that's a little more difficult to get to. You have to remove the pad cushions from the rear berth area and then remove the wall to expose the condenser.

To keep everything flowing I also use some AC Pan Tablets to keep algae growth down and to keep the sump where the water runs into fresh and clean of slime.

Not mold or mildew. Kinda like exhaust. But i know its not cause i didnt run the motors at all when i had ac on

If the boat has sat for a long period of time it has built up dust on the AC unit. When the AC unit was put back into service, parts of the unit heat up and start cooking the dust.

The ducts also have a dust build up as well as any filters.

Take a shop vac and do a thorough cleaning.
