I was getting ready to order some phifertex material to sew up a sunshade when I had a thought. Well, actually, my wife had the thought. Is there a shop out there that has the pattern for this and sells them already made? I'm not sure if it was an option when my boat was produced. I like the idea of saving myself the work. I have a sailrite machine and will sew one up myself if his option doesn't work. What I won't do is go to a local shop and pay the local price for a "custom" one.

I just finished replacing all the strataglass. These machines pay for themselves!

You sewed your own Strataglass panels? Awesome! Mind sharing some pics?

Sorry only have pictures of finished product and mess on garage floor. It is actually quite easy if you reuse the panel unstitch the old glass and use it as a template. It took about two hours per panel. The hardest part is pulling out all the old thread. I still have to do the large piece at the stern. I will try to take and post some pictures when I do that.

I’d love to pick up one of those machines used for a good price and give it a go. My kids 18’ Bowrider can use some new canvas and vinyl seating. That would be the perfect boat to practice on.

I just ordered some sunshade from Sailrite myself, and I'm going to make my own too! At the first of this year my wife, and I replaced our old tired blue canvas, and Strataglass using our Sailrite sewing machine. Saved a bunch of money. Made new covers too!

Ahhh.....I see.....so you just reused all the old canvas pieces/trim? Cool. I need to glass too and was thinking of picking up a machine.
